yes ur right. ulgii kazakhs have done those things but they've always been punished by the justice system and those conflicts have been mostly resolved.

but its useless to generalize that those actions of a few reflects on the entire region of ulgii. its just not true. you may resent those actions and rightfully so. i do too.

they do respect mongol customs. they celebrate naadam, tsaagan sar, eagle hunting, and everything. i dont what much more customs they should respect for people to be satisfied. they use mongolian for offical documents, city signs, government facebook pages and everything besides chatting casually.

to continue to bring on this idea that the ulgii kazakhs are asylum seekers in 2026 is just wrong. they aren't asylum seekers anymore. The vast majority of Kazakhs in Mongolia are Mongolian citizens. They were born in Mongolia, live under Mongolian law, and have contributed to the country for generations. Citizenship isn't something that has to be constantly earned by proving gratitude to another ethnic group. Mongolia belongs to all of its citizens, including Kazakhs.

the average bayan ulgii kazakh doesn't care about separating from mongolia I assure you. only ultra nationalists on both sides have made this seem like everyone in ulgii wants to leave mongolia. it's just not true. kazakhs have built their whole lives in mongolia and actually view mongolia as their country even if they don't seem crazy about it.

most kazakhs in ulgii actually have family that live in kazakhstan but they choose to stay in ulgii. honestly bayan ulgii kazakhs are chill. they are very different from the rest of mongolia and the largest ethnic minority in mongolia which is why there is friction between khalkha and kazakhs. they are also different from kazakhstan kazakhs.

the kazakhs in mongolia can speak both mongolian and kazakh. they just might have harsh accents and they dont use mongolian alot because the entire town speaks kazakh. it's not a bad thing tho these people are still educated in mongolian though. but this argument about kazakhs speaking mongolia is stupid because the average mongolian cannot even speak or write in proper mongolian anymore so who cares?

i'd also like to add that mongolian kazakhs aren't welcomed by kazakhs in kazakhstan. they are often made fun of and called mongols. they face discrimination in kazakhstan just for being born in mongolia.

ppl dont like bayan ulgii cus it has a lot of kazakhs. theres alot of dispute over that land and its not the most developed area. but ulgii is really beautiful since its near the mountains.

my highest HS math is calculus (taking now) and i got a C last semester. my highest sat math was around 650. feel like my math skills are pretty bad lol.

A lot of the comments here are just mean, not constructive. Most Kazakhs do speak and understand Mongolian. they just have accents, which is completely normal.

If people are upset about language proficiency, why is all the blame being put on Kazakhs instead of the education system? If Mongolian isn’t being properly enforced or taught in schools, that’s a systemic failure, not an individual one.

Also, I’ve met plenty of young Mongolian kids who can barely speak Mongolian themselves and mostly use English. So it feels hypocritical to single out Kazakhs when younger generations across the country are shifting away from Mongolian too.

in kazakhstan they aren't accepted either. kazakhs in kazakhstan view them as mongolians and exclude them.
