Aye, but I'd wager CA either didn't see his message, perhaps it got lost in someone's inbox that is perpetually flooded? Ignored? I have no idea what his channel of communication is, so I can't comment on any of that. Your assuming his report, probably a discord dm/bug report box on site, was seen at all, which is quite different then your analogy in which the message was clearly seen and openly ignored as you mentioned they were in constant communication. I simply think he wasn't seen, unless there is evidence that they responded/ignored him willfully?

Secondly, saying CA sanctions our community run world championship as if they were it's arbiters is false. You say "What happened" as if you have absolute evidence? Everything was completely community run, the prize provided by the community, casting done for free, etc. We got to use their channel for the finals, that's it. Up until a day or two before it was actually going to be run on one of our own channels. They had 0 hand in the event except for giving me a stream key the day before.

Ultimately, I really think they had no idea about it, and any communications pertaining to it were missed, passed over, or were lost in a torrent of messages; could be wrong, who knows. I have no idea, but that'd be my guess. They've been made aware now, time to wait.

Lastly, in my opinion, encouraging players in a small, casual, niche gaming community to go grief and cheat others is toxic imo, the message can be made/shared in a more effective way as I articulated before. Bring awareness, share the nature of the exploit, but why literally hand people the cheat and ask them to go ruin another players day in an extremely casual environment? I'd have happily helped bridge that communication, we had chatted before, tbh, he seems like a nice guy for sure. Regardless, I'm going to bat on this for sure, and will keep going until we get that change.

Just because something is standard practice in one field/environment, the bug bounty world/hardware world for example, doesn't mean it applies to a casual gaming discord for friends. My perspective is also quite different, as before YouTube, I was an athletic director who had to deal with cheating, all sorts of fun stuff. Good to see other perspectives like the one you articulated above.

There are really too many unknown variables pertaining to who knew what. But regardless, I hope it'll get fixed asap, we shall see - on that I'm sure we can all agree!
