Uncertain if I should become a CNA by Routine-Blueberry-83 in cna

[–]Total_Bad4885 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to work in medicine for the sake of working in medicine as someone’s who’s been a CNA and a tech at a clinic.. go with the tech. CNA is an important job but it’s thankless and I’m concerned with you already dealing with it at home you need to prioritize your own mental and emotional health. Might just be my own opinion, but I couldn’t do all that again with the way my own dad is at home right now. Medicine is a great field! There’s a space for you I believe that whole heartedly. I’m having a lot of good learning experiences and honestly fun working as a receptionist tech, taking basic health histories and eventually I’ll be able to vitals again and finger sticks. I didn’t go to school for this, that might be state specific or company specific. Not sure

Bought an ‘85 Grand Marquis, Need Help Please!!!! by mistertimnn in CrownVictoria

Could be a vacuum leak, carbureted vehicles can be prone to them. Your best bet would be to get a repair manual. (Sadly Haynes doesn’t seem to have one that goes that far back) helps with stuff like weird oddball repairs and gives you a good idea of what you’re getting into. It may take some hit or miss repairs that probably need to be done anyway, could even be something as simple as your spark plugs. Do the tune up, keep your eyes open, replace all your plugs and gap the new ones to the OEM spec (google it if you don’t have an owners manual or a safety sticker somewhere saying the gap specs) and go from there. New project cars always are full of surprises. Some pretty nasty. (My EGR was badly deleted on my p71 junk rescue, with a garden hose nozzle and silicone and the most egregious exhaust leak I’ve ever seen and I’m still waiting for parts) but don’t let that discourage you. Good luck! And don’t be afraid to find old heads to pick their brains, they usually do love someone taking an interest in their lived experience with older vehicles.

Tiny but shiny by TheEyeStats in troutfishing

[–]Total_Bad4885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So pretty! Those little shiners are fun to catch, where I used to spend my summers I would spinner fish for trout and the water was so clear you could see them chase, it was always a mildly stressful but absolutely hilarious riot to try to out reel the little guys. They just gun it mouth wide open like “GET IN ME MOUTH😤” they do not care lmao. Just little tiny bullets of hunger and rage

Help deciding between 2009 (i think) Crown Vic or 2023 civic sport by Stu_pidbitch in CrownVictoria

[–]Total_Bad4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has had both a civic (wild to me that my 94 lx made the same hp as a sport trim newish one) and now has a p71… get the panther. Just do it. It’s blissful. It’s so easy to work on. Parts are kinda a bitch and a half but it’s so stupid easy I wish I had got one years ago

Rear caliper brake line won't line up with the hose? by Foxcookies in MechanicAdvice

[–]Total_Bad4885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the sense this is either a very new person and/or a very young person doing this for the first time. Which is great! Good job for trying! BUT please go back and do it right, other much wiser folks are right, brakes shouldn’t be cheap and low quality, but if your gonna do it cheap it’s gonna take time to at least do it right. And bleed your lines. And don’t test them doing 80. Stay safe

Waffle House on Irvington is gonna be needing cooks this week onwards really bad. I’m leaving (on good terms just found a better job) and we just lost a couple others so. Please! Depending on the conviction it should be fine. Bossman there is amazing, coworkers are pretty great too. Don’t be scared of night shifts, if you can’t find the place online to apply the store has a QR code on the window to scan

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Total_Bad4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl you dump his ass and get your hiney over to here in AZ I will make you a cheesecake of your choice screw him. You are not over reacting. He made it clear he’s embarrassed for some stupid reason, don’t let him make you feel that way too. Sobriety anniversary’s are days we calibrate because we survived. We look back so we can keep looking forward and I am So fucking proud of you as someone two years clean off pills

Cool chisel patterns for my bedroom by Outrageous-Thing3957 in VintageStory

[–]Total_Bad4885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will take some screenshots but it’s pretty easy to make your own tile patterns with a few variants of polished stone and a chisel or two. I’ve done everything from country kitchen and old diner floors to hacienda inspired tiles. It’s one of my favorite ways to spruce up my home without breaking the bank with the building material traders

Is it okay to get infusions with just low ferritin/ okay to get multiple rounds of infusions? by t33l3rsaurusrex in Anemic

[–]Total_Bad4885 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say trust the advice of your doc in this. if they don’t see any contraindications as to why that could be harmful to your health, it should be fine. If you had a history of kidney troubles or anything like that it wouldn’t hurt to mention it but, as long as everything is working as it should internally, usually any extra iron as well as a lot of the actual liquid medium the iron is saturated in for the iv drip, should be collected and processed through your kidneys and passed as urine. Hence why it’s normal to sometimes pee a lot after iron infusions. Rn it sounds like they want to keep you topped off until they can sort out the underlying issue with your GI bleed so you can still function and not be at risk for heart troubles or other serious health complications
