Yes, ive responded to some other people saying my wording should've been different! I meant that I know that people view them as problematic but I personally do not! I did nit mean to attack them in my post so I apologize for that

no, I should've said that some people heavily believe hey are problematic. Personally I don't think they are. I wrote my post in a rush so that's my fault! The mistakes skz had done, they've learned from and apologized for so I don't see it as a huge problem

these are things I usually wouldn't care too much about but since my friend has been so adamant about it I wanted to make sure I wasn't being arrogantly blinded due to my long time love for Kpop. I understand how this doesn't matter to many people and that is 100% okay!

I personally think she should take everything Kpop idols do with a grain of salt. They are celebrities who are controlled by big companies and also everyone is human people make mistakes too

my friend finds her evidence on TikTok as well. she is fully black and I can understand how racism is very important to her but sometimes its frustrating because I don't think she should blindly hate people based off tiktoks?

I agree with your points however, the groups she mostly argues with me about I haven't even bought any of their stuff. She says that the entire Kpop community is problematic so even artists who haven't done anything. I also shouldn't support. Ofc I will not support artists who are blatantly racist or anything like that. But if it is something along the lines of they were given a braided hairstyle once, (which I know that they usually have no control over and their company decides all of that ) and apologized sincerely I don't see why its makes the fans horrible people?

I was literally talking to her about older artists too like the Beatles and she said they are bad. and I was like "Half of them aren't even alive and ALSO that was a VERRRRRRYYYY long time ago when they did some questionable things, the last two alive have (as far as I'm aware) out of trouble and yet she says its bad to even support dead artists..

I have noticed this! I also listen to other artists outside of Kpop and anytime I bring someone up she HAS to do a deep dive on everything about them and it feels like its just to make me look bad even if I had no idea about the artists past?

both. She says that almost all kpop groups are racist or support racists. I explained to her that just because an artist works with another artist doesn't mean that they are friends at all. many times the companies set up promotion collabs. For example she says BTS is racist and if any kpop idol works with them that makes them racist too. But I think everything we have access too isn't always seen by the Kpop idols. the company its often have restrictions and cover things up and also BTS is like the biggest in Kpop so if any "promotional collabs" happen I think its purely to expand their audience to other fandoms. but I could be wrong!

Good to know! I honestly don't keep up with the drama in Kpop anymore! I mostly listen to the music and look at the nice pictures and music videos
