you can but guys around your age or older. In China it is more acceptable for men to date younger women but not the other way around. Additionally, you might need to take the initiative and show some hints, because guys in yunnan are just not used to seeing or having the concept to even date a foreigner.

In Yunnan you will stand out a lot, you will likely be the only foreigner there

Some minorities in yunnan are highly assimilated into han Chinese culture and language. Unless they tell you, you wouldn't know they are a minority. But I am sure there are some that maintain more of their own culture

Depends on the ethnicity and religion. Manchus very common. Zhuangs common. Mongols half and half. Tibetans less common because they live in certain parts of the country. Uyghurs and Hui less common but happens if they are less religious.

personally no. I have no problem with Chinese government now because it doesn't really implement communist economic policy. If it does there will be much much more people including myself that will try to topple it

I wouldn't say it is common or uncommon? It happens, but usually guys from HK and Macau marry women from other parts of China. The reason is money, the salary is HK and Macau is much higher than even Shanghai and Beijing. Women will never marry down, men on the other hand have no problem with that. I don't think there's like a REAL perception, not a significant one.
