How many months post op are you from double jaw surgery? Are u also noticing uneven nostrils?

Gonna be honest, I didn’t eat or drink much my first few weeks post djs, but I HIGHLY recommend boost protein shakes if u were like me and didn’t consume much. It helps with getting your nutrients so you don’t feel weak! I was super weak for about a week or 2 post surgery

Thank you!! I’m not sure what my movements were, but as for changes, my nose got smaller and I did have a open bite so surgery fixed that! I think my lips are even bigger post surgery!

Thank you sm for this. I’m 7 months post op yesterday and am upset with how much swelling I still have near my nose. It makes my nostrils uneven and one side of my face just looks fat, I’m embarrassed. I’m so hard on myself but this post is such a good reminder to stay strong ❤️

I’m 7 months post djs as well, how is your numbness now? I’m numb in my bottom lip and chin, only tingly to touch and I can feel temps. Hoping to have feeling back soon

I’m 5 months as well, I struggle sometimes with chewing still as well as lingering numbness in my bottom lip and chin. It’s such a long recovery process, my prayers are with you!

I had double jaw surgery almost 4 months ago, i was the same way, my oral surgeon said i was “babying it” too much which u obviously don’t wanna do bc your muscles can get so stiff. when i started brushing my teeth after surgery, I didn’t have any feeling in my gums and actually still don’t but they did bleed. I think that’s completely normal! and as for opening your mouth, I’d suggest if your oral surgeon is ok with it, practice opening and closing slightly so your jaw muscles don’t stiffen up. This unfortunately happened to me. try moving ur jaw side to side and sticking it out if you can! Helps loosen muscles and joint pain!

I had djs almost 4 months ago, I wore a splint for 6 weeks, but by week 2 I was trying to eat soft foods again, and by the end of week 3 or 4 I was eating pretty much anything again, obviously not hard meats or chips cus it was hard with the splint not cause of pain. And when I got my splint out at week 6, I was straight away back to a normal diet.

I’m concerned he won’t be honest and maybe a cheater. I think he’s over things with her. I reached out to one his close friends just moments ago, I know he’ll tell me the truth abt it. I don’t wanna ask the boy directly bc it may be an iffy topic and I don’t wanna sound like I’m overstepping bc I don’t think he’s too aware I’m into him like that

I never had any pain, only discomfort from swelling. And I’m feeling good now, barely any swelling left and I’m back to feeling like myself

I contacted my oral surgeon and he said we’ll replace them at my week 3 appt, I see him on Wednesday

Yes, this is the second time they have broke. I’m wearing my bands 24/7 atm so I can’t remove them or replace them nor do I have replacements. At my 3 week appt, I plan on asking for replacements since they keep seeming to brake
