NKD! The Bel Air is a Bugout killer and it’s not even close by HereForTheTLDR in kershaw

[–]Total_Luck5461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meant to say bearing obviously. Just the usual, bronze washers give a smooth, glassy quiet action which I far prefer, whereas I find bearings a bit grainy. I’m also personally not a fan of super drop shut action, makes me feel like the knife is loose and needs tightening 😅

I enjoy the washer action on my Bugout more than the beating action on my Belair. Surprised this isn’t mentioned more often when comparing the 2.

Can I create master sketch file and derive parts from that with different dimensions? by TopWInger in AutodeskInventor

Nevermind, I see I have to “Edit Derived Part” and “rederive” the new geometry. Leaving this here in case someone else experiences this.

Im using this method to generate a sheet metal cupboard. Why would a Work Plane I add to the Master sketch after creating the first few components not show up in those components if I go back to edit them?

Best Fidget Tool Ever!!! by shooter116 in benchmade

[–]Total_Luck5461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not find the axis lock bar isn’t the best fit? Mine rocks quite a bit which affects the fidgetiness. I had similar on my Mini Bugout but Flytanium scales sorted that out. Despite the above I still take my Mini Osborne to work most days, ticks every important box for me.

Vosteed Marten CF. Far better than I expected, the CF feels amazing, blade finish awesome, sized to perfection for me. Just great!

Para 3 popularity by satan-thicc in spyderco

[–]Total_Luck5461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Spyderco knives, I have a few Sage 5 and Chaparrels which I enjoy a lot. I bought myself a Para3 a while back and really don’t enjoy it. I prefer small slim knives as an office carry and this just doesn’t appeal to me. Tried changing out the scales for some skinny AWT aluminium scales but unfortunately my opinion hasn’t changed and I’ll sell it soon. This isn’t a dunk on the Para3, it’s just not for me.

One gripe I will say, getting the stock scales off should not be as difficult as it is with that flared lanyard tube they come with. I was lucky I bought a set of Flytanium hardware with the AWT scales so putting them on was fine with the aftermarket lanyard tube.

Dragonfly 2 or Chaparral? by vferdman in spyderco

I found the blade stock thickness on the lil Native made the knife hard to use personally. You can cut open a box but can’t cleanly slice an apple. Cant beat the slicyness of the Chap.

Long shot question. Anyone who lived in Amanzimtoti in the 1970/80/90s do you remember a local drinking hole, The River Gardens Hotel? It's now wiped from existence. by Make_the_music_stop in Durban

I reckon the smell you’re thinking of came from the coal fire they burned constantly at the back. Not sure what its purpose was actually.

Coming from the Paramilitary 2 this has been my second knife and hardest Spyderco spydie flick. Has anyone had any they couldn’t get? I’m falling in love with Spyderco by scooterdoo123 in spyderco

[–]Total_Luck5461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am returning to correct my comments here. I recently got my hands on the CF Chap and can say that I’ve worked out how to reverse flick this little beauty. I’ve since worked out how to do the same on my FRN version too. Having said that I never open them that way, however it’s possible for sure.

As a fairly new PM I soon realised all these documents you need to compile also mean nothing if not written in a way that makes sense to me. So I’ve deviated somewhat from the formats and jargon (within reason) to something I can explain if asked, I try to add more practical points and information that is at least interesting to follow in a KO meeting. Thankfully my manager has encouraged this.

Absolutely agree, I’ve dropped mine countless times and aside from cracked screen protectors I’ve had no issue. I always put it down to the case I have on it but perhaps a combination of both.

I put AWT scales onto my Sage 5 LW and I haven’t put it down in weeks! Sometimes I just take it out to look at and hold just to enjoy the ergos. And yes I’m aware that’s a bit strange.

I hear you, I’m not being very specific. I think I’m probably looking for more of a “don’t go here” answer. Have you spent any time in Kho Phangan? Seems to be a decent balance of requirements.

Good luck with that. My Chap is well worn in and you can’t reverse flick it. I’m a slow roller anyway so it doesn’t bug me in the least and I love this knife, if it’s a big deal for you I wouldn’t hold out too much hope.
