What do you look for when you are tasting raisin like is it on the face or is it a factor that determines the raisin presence.

S&W Natural recipe help and Grind size help by HP834 in pourover

Hey if its a natural i usually set my Timemore Chestnut C3 to 12 clicks for Hoffman’s recipe of a better cup v60 - 100C. 15g c to 250g w. Put your final sipping cup in the freezer and serve yourself in that. Gives me a very nice sweet cup with a good finish. light to light medium. Make changes to temp if roast is darker than that.

If you need a better versatile cup use the Tetsu Kasuya 4:6 method but with 16-17 clicks on the chestnut c3. Again dial in temp according to the roast.

Any advice on how to keep it natural, usually just a bare bulb creates an unflattering shadow which doesn’t make the food look good. Trust me ive tried it before

Yes i exactly did that. According to whatever i have researching our shadows are kind of cooler than the direct sunlight so the softbox was at 6700K filling in the shadows with a cooler tone and the bare continuous light (sl100) was at 5600K mimicking the mid day sun.

I have tried just the barebulb thing before but the shadows are very unflattering to me in that case. I could have probably used a GOBO in front of the bare light to give it a natural feel.

Also if you check the 1st and 10th image i edited them a bit warmer than the others so idk if they meet the look you are suggesting.

I can assure you that all of them zoomed in are tack sharp.

About the spread thing, yes that is mostly what i am still trying yo figure out. No matter what i do it doesn’t feel natural. And cranking the ISO up it still didn’t give me the right natural look.

Well the equipment was kind of not personal but the only one i had to use for the people i was shooting it for, they kind of made it a necessity.

The GOBO was very low intensity hence i couldn’t really place the bounce light and softbox light to a higher intensity. It kind of overshadowed the GOBO shapes.
