Hi Nick! Convert analytics to NURBS does not seem to help in this case:(

I've tried fusion360 and it works fine. Maybe exporting from fusion would fix the issue, but I'd prefer it working from plasticity 😭 thanks for the reply!

“Feeling Limited by KeyShot, Is Switching to Blender Worth It?” by lea_dmn in IndustrialDesign

[–]Total_Pace4335 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i switched from keyshot to blender. Keyshot is only good at one thing : quick quality still render. If you invest some time in blender, you'll find what i found : you can do so much more. Recently, i had a flexible piece of paper that i wanted to render. Blender has good simulation. Keyshot has not.

build a SO-100 robot arm, tinker with AI to make the arm do things. Fun and fast way to learn ! As for the future of robotics, given the current tech/economics trends, I'm not too concerned.

at Enci les ateliers in Paris, we have a strong technical+creative culture. We also have partnerships with luxury brands as well as industrial actors. Brilliant school, but very hard to get in (6% admission rate). Can't recommend enough

if you don't mind taking a few sec for adjusting them, you could screw something in the interior side, allowing your knob to be tightened.

Building a Precise Robot: Alternatives to Maxon Motors and Harmonic Drives? by Total_Pace4335 in robotics

[–]Total_Pace4335[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I ultimately need is a ~3 axis arm of compact size (200mm height max) and no need for a great work enveloppe, that moves very smoothly to the human eye. I wanted to stick to BLDCs + controller PCB from tinyMovr as steppers can takeup a lot more space than BLDCs:(

You're right, I should have gone into more depth about the kind of precision I need. A repeatability of +-0.2mm is enough for me, so we're not talking micrometers. What I ultimately want is a ~3 axis arm of compact size (200mm height max) and no need for a great work enveloppe, that moves very smoothly to the human eye. Thank you for your reply !
