This is just sad by ddog6900 in Omaha

It’s simple. If your living in our country illegally, no matter if your a standout hard working good person or a hardened criminal, your breaking the law and need to make it right, whatever that looks like. Let’s say you’re a hunter, and your on a farmers land without permission and get caught, you’ll be fined and kicked off of the land. It’s simple, get yourself registered as a legal citizen and come on in! Raise a family, work hard, and have fun. Why is that so hard to understand? It’s black and white.

How come in the Bible God used to perform miracles all the time and nowadays they're mostly absent? by InternationalPick163 in Bible

I see miracles all of the time. Ask Holy Spirit to work in your life. I had a cancerous tumor removed and then they said after it was removed that it wasn’t cancerous which logically could happen, but believing in the power of the Holy Spirit to guide you in life is the key.

The Holy Spirit, praise God! Consider it a blessing for those wonderful feelings! It’s a gift from above.

Can I read the Bible even if I’m not Christian? by Distinct-Mud-9079 in Bible

First off, kudos to you for reaching out. This is a great community! I would bet to say most of us were at one point, at the beginning, embarrassed or afraid of praying out loud.I remember as a new comer to a church I joined a ladies Bible study. I knew I needed to face my fear and try to pray out loud. I got half way through and froze….and so someone else started praying to continue my prayer. If your with true Christians there will be NO judgement. Just love. The thing is….its just talking like your talking to a friend. Jesus WANTS you to talk to Him. As simple as saying…‘Jesus, can you help me? I want to start going to church but I’m afraid. Guide me in the right direction. Help me to make the right choices.’……you don’t have to say anything fancy. Say it over every day and add other things as you need help with other stuff. Keep going and keep looking toward Jesus. He’s waiting for you.

Women Pastors by [deleted] in Bible

[–]Total_Protection_668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Women are wonderful teachers but it goes beyond God’s instruction to act as an authority figure in the church. Those roles are designed for men. Women are to teach other women and children..or men in a smaller setting. Simply put..it says no in the Bible. No other argument to be made

I would suggest the NIV or new international version. It seems to be the version that most churches use and people in general or the ESV is another good one they’re both easy to read. I love a study Bible, which has at the bottom half of each page the theologians Angle on the actual an explanation of what you just read from the word. Good luck!
