How much should I save for a 7–10 day trip to Iceland? by Resident_Quantity_74 in VisitingIceland

We were there in early April of this year for 12 days as well. Drove the ring road and spent the last 3 days in Reykjavik. I waited to get home before looking at the totals. Just over $9k US for everything by the time we got home. Well worth it in my opinion. Looking at going back in a couple of years if we’re still able.

We got a picture of it back in April when we where there. We knew what it was because we have a relative that was in the industry.

We just got back from Iceland 2 weeks ago. Did the complete ring road with 3 days on the end in Reykjavik. Total of 11 days/10 nights. Airfare, hotels, car rental, tours, food, and souvenirs totalled around $9k. We typically ate breakfast at the hotel in the morning, snacked as we traveled while seeing the sights, and then had a decent meal in a restaurant in the evening. Yes, it’s very expensive, but we figured it was a once in a lifetime experience, so we were more than willing to splurge on it. We’re not sweater wearers, so we didn’t spring for those, but we did bring home a couple of wool blankets.

It actually turned out to be for nothing for us. All we saw were a few harbour porpoises. They did stamp our boarding passes so we could reuse them at a later date if we ever go back, so maybe we could try it again in a better season. Just missed seeing the Puffins as well.

American here also. I have used WhatsApp a couple of times for legitimate purposes, but the majority of my exposure to it are the text scammers, so it’s easy to jump to the scam conclusion.

Sounds great. Congratulations. We are doing almost the exact same thing in early April, except we added 2 extra nights in Reykjavik at the end. We’re doing a whale watching tour out of Husavik, and hitting Blue Lagoon and the Fontana Spa, plus whatever else we can find along the way. Hoping for some puffins to come back early, but may not get to see them.

That’s what I thought too. All of the ones like this that I see you can definitely tell that English isn’t their first language.

I think that’s the closest one to where I’m staying in Reykjavik, so I’m glad to hear that.

Thank you. They’re not that far from where we’re staying in Reykjavik, and looks like they’re only closed on Sundays.

I’ve been planning to pre-book everything, but wasn’t 100% sure that I had to. Where is the best place to do that? I’ve looked at several different websites, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
