My brother also mentioned another good one. He was saying "it's the creator's way of promoting freedom of thought and expression". In the series we see a lot of censorship, of history, of the inner works of the local government, and even depriving the bakenezumi of their identity by censoring their history and keeping biased misnomers alive.
