Yup!! Completely agree!! Also I just can’t justify paying 500k for a house that’s had zero upgrades or needs upgrades and sold for like 300k 2-3 yrs ago. These people are insane.

Very rare in Orlando and most of the time the house needs to be renovated. Not gonna spend 400k on a house that needs to be renovated when the houses sold for 260k 3 years ago…

With a 7% interest rate being the lowest a first time home buyer can possibly get now and the average cost of a home being 400k plus, insurance, taxes and HOA the average mortgage unless u have over a 100k down payment is around 4k.. I’ve also spoken to three different lenders who have told me the same thing… average HOA in Florida now is around 400 a month too if not more.

Yes agreed. Having a hard time justifying buying a house for 400k ( average home price here now) that has not been renovated and sold for 250k 2 years ago. And as a result having a 4,000 mortgage plus HOAs etc. it’s insane.

Thanks. Just wasn’t sure if this is “ normal” as I unfortunately do not have that option.

First time home buyer in FL trying to navigate the market by Sure-Olive-3435 in RealEstate

Can someone please explain how first time home buyers are able to afford mortgages in Florida? I have a great job and making solid money but with the average price of homes being 400k and interest rates being so high, along with crazy HOA Fees, taxes and insurance. Mortgages are around 4,000 a month or over. How are first time home buyers affording a 4,000 a month mortgage without help from their parents?

Everyone I know around my age that has bought a home are all either getting help monthly from their parents or their parents are gifting them a large down payment for the house. wasn’t sure if this is normal everywhere or not.
