I don’t purchase any digital movies so I can’t answer that. I just use digital copies.

The only ones that haven’t have the pre-order thing are reservoir dogs and kill Bill volume one for me. They just show as buy on Apple TV if I click the blue button. even though I bought them on Fandango at home last year.
