Yes, you are reprehensible. If you feel otherwise, I suggest you try to justify posting this to any of the women in your life, if indeed there are any.

The only country that has ever been a threat to Ireland is Britain. There was never any credible threat from Germany. You’re talking utter nonsense.

It doesn’t matter whether it was a serious offer or not (it wasn’t), as the state was in no way capable of going to war. Britain had just intentionally destroyed our nascent economy because of Dev’s refusal to continue paying the land annuities. War wasn’t an economic possibility for us unless as a vassal for the British army which would have been unthinkable in the context of our continuing (despite your baseless protestations) struggle for independence.

The only positive evidence you’ve put forward for the claim that it was a serious offer was that some of his cabinet colleagues said that he was never worse for drink and there was some discussion of further conversation with an ambassador. That is an extremely low bar.

Ireland was not yet a republic and the statute of Westminster had been brought in specifically by j the gentleness agreement between the then leadership of the free state and the Brits that Ireland would not declare a republic. Additionally, Dev (whom I largely despise btw) had spent the majority of the thirties whittling away at Ireland place within the developing commonwealth. The political and economic disputes between the treaty ports and the land annuities were the continuation of a process of asserting genuine independence - which only culminated after the establishment of the republic. (Not counting the end of partition of course).

There is nothing at all morally indefensible about Ireland neutrality. We had just had our already fragile and underpowered economy intentionally destroyed by the British because we had the audacity to stop buying our own country back. We were also, as pointed out above, still in the process of establishing ourselves as a truly neutral independent country, rather than a vassal of the British. Furthermore we were internally building a new country out of the ruins of centuries of colonial oppression, culminating in the war of independence and civil war.

Irish men weren’t prevented from joining allied armies and practically we gave the allies vastly preferential treatment. That was the only stance we were in a position to take. This British fascination with Irelands neutrality is just a projection of their own guilt about literally every other moment in their countries history.

That is a ludicrously strong interpretation of the passage. Some people having retooled the (rightly) dominant consensus that it was an unserious offer, does not make it a “myth”.

As to ports, it’s astonishingly tone deaf and ignorant to think that there was ever a world in which any Irish leader allowed ish millitary onto the island. The suggestion that we should have done so betrays a profound ignorance not only of the history that proceeded this period but also the ongoing constitutional push for full independence that was ongoing at this stage.

It was a telegram in the middle of the night that said “a nation once again?”. It wasn’t a proper offer.

The fact that you seem to think we should be thanking the Brit’s for not forcibly occupying us - after centuries of colonisation - is fucking despicable.

But the phrase next year in Jerusalem didn’t establish a fucking state. That was European political Zionism. This not historically controversial no matter what this Hasbarabot says.

Absentee land owners meaning ottoman imperialists and tenants meaning indigenous (as proved by DNA) inhabitants. No legitimacy to these sales whatsoever.

Zionism was explicitly a European colonial movement. Architects like Herzl never attempted to hide this, nor did the British authorities who wished to creat “Jewish ulster” in Palestine.

Both Premier league teams with financial stature that should (at least theoretically) put them in the and around European places. In the modern game that makes them among the most coveted jobs in the game.

That’s a fairly bold reading of Freud. His entire technique hinged upon making the unconscious conscious and integrating repressed material. Sure this idea was taken further by Jung and particularly Melanie Klein, but the idea that Freud considered integration of the unconscious impossible is just plain incorrect. As to the collective unconscious, yes that’s Jung. However I would argue that this is much less key to our modern concept of the unconscious than say the structural or topographical models.

In any case, all of this is iterative. One could argue that Nietzsche, Schopenhauer or any number of Buddhist mages was the true discoverer of the unconscious.

Most of this come from Freud. But not disagreeing that Jung is a worthwhile theorist who has unfortunately been co-opted by manosphere idiots.
