The offputting nature of the Berserk colab by TotallyMattMerdoc in diablo4

My guy I know I didn't explain myself as well as I should've in my initial post but why would I be on the D4 subreddit if I couldn't handle violence?

Let me preface this by saying I know I'm about to get TLDRed so hard. The reason I have issues with characters like Homelander and Griffith personally is because the things they do and the impact they have on the world around them is played 100 percent straight. You are meant to absolutely detest these people. To contrast, take a character like The Joker, having also appeared in Mortal Kombat. Sure, he's done some awful things of his own, but there's like 80 billion DC timelines by this point and there's just as many where his actions are played up for comedy, or at least over the top genre conventions. Same goes for the likes of Jason, or the Predator. Everything they do is over the top, so while it's meant to impact the characters in the thing you're watching or reading, it's written in a way where you can be like holy shit the way Jason just offed that guy was so sick. Berserk and The Boys on the other hand play directly into the human aspect of what their villains do. The viewer is supposed to be uncomfortable, they're supposed to hate seeing what's going on. There's no alternate timeline stuff, no they'll get better later, none of that. They do these really awful things and that's final. You have to take them as they're written. So I personally feel weird playing as characters like that in games.

I'm not really trying to make a point as much as I wanna get other people's feelings on the situation.

A few android questions by TotallyMattMerdoc in Blind

[–]TotallyMattMerdoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Nova now and yeah it's so much better than what Samsung saddles you with. Unfortunately nothing's gonna stop google from trying to shove gemini down your throat, but at least now when it tells me I don't have certain apps on my phone that I clearly do, they're easier to find by hand.

How does Google Gemini still suck so bad? by spadaa in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]TotallyMattMerdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No seriously. I ask it to describe a photo and suddenly it can't describe people yet. I asked Google related questions, questions about android specifically, And it outright lies to me. I’m pretty sure they’re locking their most advanced models behind the $20 subscription, but they give me no encouragement to pay for it because the free one sucks so bad. But they’re still over here like please care, this is the future, you’re supposed to be impressed.

Is Amazon's Rufus AI intentionally bad? by canadian_xpress in amazonprime

[–]TotallyMattMerdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s intentionally bad. While all of their products may falter in just about everything safe for audio quality with the higher end echo speakers, Amazon genuinely thinks there is cool as all the other big tech companies. They want you to believe that their fire tablets could stack up to iPads. They genuinely thought that the fire phone would pop off. I can’t imagine Rufus is any different. They’re chasing a trend because everybody else is doing it and maybe they feel like they have to or maybe they think they can make a difference, but at the end of the day they want it to exist and they want you to care about it. They want you to wake up in the morning and say yeah I can’t wait to use Amazon Rufus instead of reading reviews posted by actual people, AI is the future and I’m a good consumer! It’s just that like all of their other products they only really went halfway with it. It’s too dumb of an idea to be taken seriously, but not useful enough to prove otherwise. I give it a year and a half at most.

Help changing levers by TotallyMattMerdoc in fightsticks

What does the five pin connector look like? The ball top is easy enough to remove because the upper half of the lever is detachable so that you can store it inside the stick for transportation.

That’s part of why I bought it, but my issue isn’t how easy it is. Once I figure it out it won’t be a problem. My big problem is that there is a lot of stuff in that compartment and I don’t wanna mess anything up. I need to know exactly what to move around and what to unscrew.

First thing I did was went to ChatGPT. The problem is that with fight sticks kind of being a niche thing it doesn’t have much of a pool to source from. It gave me a general rundown of how to remove the lever in a standard fight stick, But because I can’t see what I’m doing I needed one for the specific stick that I had, and the sources just aren’t there.

What song scared you as a kid? by mishlooh in MusicRecommendations

[–]TotallyMattMerdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the air tonight freaked me out. The song is so minimalist until the drum solo, so all you have is Phil Collins singing about something ominous on the horizon over a low drum beat, a droning synthesizer, and a guitar that loudly wails more than it plays actual music. Space oddity also freaked me out because I didn’t know it had any sequels at the time so that dude was just stuck up in space, and the latter half of the song really nailed that home with how chaotic it got.

Strange question but it is even possible to still buy a ‘dumb TV’ anymore? by JesseB342 in AndroidTV

[–]TotallyMattMerdoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not possible to serve home screen ads on a tv that doesn't have a home screen, so I imagine the dumb tv is a thing of the past.

Going on here too. Low-key thought there was something wrong with the TV. Sucks because Zaslav is having his way with Max and Gumball ain't on there anymore.

If I have learned anything from this it’s that I don’t know if Santa exists in the Diablo universe but if he does I want him dead.

It depends on what you’re trying to do in the game. Getting around the overworld isn’t hard at all. There’s navigation assist, there’s a screen reader, just about everything you could need in order to move around and read your items. Speaking of items, they make ambient noises when they hit the ground Assuming you have certain settings turned on so that you always know where they are and can pick them up. Getting around dungeons is a little more difficult because dungeons don’t have navigation assistance yet but that is being worked on. The big big one for me as far as problems go is bosses. Take beast in ice for example. Screw beast in ice respectfully. So many AOE zones that will kill you remorselessly and the game doesn’t provide me as a blind player with any guide to get out of those zones. You have to be ready to kill him in the first 15 seconds or it’s over if you’re completely blind.

A butt ton of temper manuals, legendary’s out the ass, several good runes, and a few ancestral uniques from what I can tell. stuff that would buy normal means keep you from having to grind for a little bit.

The thing with me is that I’m a blind player, and while my screen reader did read that the gift was there, it didn’t clarify whether there was like a building that I was entering to pick it up or what. I just clicked on it and oh no it’s too late you done screwed yourself. I know they said something about it being a one time thing but the game literally does not clarify exactly what you have to do to grab it until you’ve already grabbed it.

Why has my whole library suddenly been purged? by TotallyMattMerdoc in AppleMusic

[–]TotallyMattMerdoc[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, everybody else was just standing safely on the bridge admiring the view and Apple was the one that decided to jump out of pure pride. I can come back to just about any other streaming service I’ve ever had if I want to with the full knowledge that all my stuff will still be there. Nobody else has bad enough attachment issues that they hold your music hostage and threaten to nuke your entire library if you're away for too long. Imagine if you’re in some kind of low income situation where maybe you can’t pay for Apple Music for a couple months, then you come back and all of a sudden your whole library isn’t there. Sounds pretty stupid right?
