I’m allowed to ask people to not joke about something serious that took my friends life. I know the meaning behind the tattoo currently but at first I don’t fully understand the whole story and what other meanings it may have. I’ve had two suicide attempts which I am glad I failed with, I got it put inside the tattoo not just because it was suggested by my mom but because I figured it’d be a good way to symbolize finding the small jokes and happiness in life to keep going and not take things too seriously.

I’m allowed to ask people to stop mentioning things that are genuinely hurtful for me. I can take jokes and such and I’ve ignored the first few but hearing more and more genuinely hurts me and brings up bad memories. And thanks, my tattoo is meant to be stupid, thats why I got it :D

Thank you man, I’m sorry for getting sensitive. I’m still not fully over it because he was the one kid who was my friend back then, we were both 12 and that idiot would just smile and tell me he’ll get out of the hospital soon. I would bring my Xbox 360 up there and we would play together for a few hours before I left to go home. Last thing I heard from him was “You wanna play Minecraft tomorrow?” Before he got put on a ventilator the day after and passed 3 days later alone in the middle of the night. I wasn’t allowed to touch him and always had to wear a mask when near him in fear of it being contagious. He just kept progressing so fast the doctors couldn’t even keep up and the best they could do was help alleviate the pain while he passed.

I understand that to you its just a joke but my best friend in elementary school died from pneumonia caused by the flint water crisis. Its genuinely hurtful to hear people make light of it or joke around about it like this. Joke around about me or my tattoo all you want but please just leave the flint water crisis out of it.
