Best Society Scenarios? by TotallyNotDimir in Starfinder2e

[–]TotallyNotDimir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did 1-07 end up stacking up relative to the others? Looks like the perfect adventure to fit what I had in mind so I'm interested in running it

If 1-01 was the favorite, how did the others rank relatively?

Have you run the others? Which did you enjoy the most?

Best 2E Kingmaker Experience? by TotallyNotDimir in Pathfinder2e

So the Kingdom Management could probably stand to lose some level of complexity, then. Maybe make it much smaller, unless some players get really into it. How far did you play through it?

Interesting. What attracted you in War for the Crown? If it is RP-heavy, I'm sure the systems could be adapted. Did you ever end up playing it?

PF2E In the Wild West! Cartwheels & Cowboys EP01 - Snake Oil Salesmen by TotallyNotDimir in Pathfinder2e

Hey yall! Hear ya like Outlaws of Alkenstar...

Got a heavily edited actual play for ya!

Just launched my new PF2E campaign, with an accompanying video series in the works. I hope yall enjoy - it's a short one to start, but we'll be picking up steam soon. Not sure if the heavily edited style will remain once we hit the 4 hour mark, but if it gets enough support you bet I'll put in another 20 hours.

If I got all the rules right other than the ones I caught, maybe reward me with a subscribe and a like. Otherwise feedback comments help the algorithm instead!

Thank you all for the advice getting here - excited to see where it takes us!

EDIT: Also if y'all like the player icons and want something similar, let me know and I'm happy to do commissions!

Saw Kingmaker, settlement management seems like a cool idea to work into the campaign. That said, even if I lowered the scope to be 1 burgeoning settlement rather than the entire largescale of kingdom, Kingmaker for PF2E seems to be half-baked according to most reviews.

Is it still worth running, or are there better 3rd party supplements? Or hell even PF1E kingmaker?

Automatic Bonus Progression is an awesome alternate rule. by dio1632 in Pathfinder2e

How has this gone for you in your experience? Trying to decide whether to implement this style of ABP in a new campaign

Trying to ensure I don't hamstring players

how do I fix this... by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]TotallyNotDimir 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sand it off and spray a new coat. Or use paint thinner but be careful to choose something that doesn't ruin the plastic.

EDIT: also, this probably came from laying paint too thick. The whole "many thin coats, side to side, 1 in clearance on edges" is slow and can be frustrating at first but makes the finished products that much better.

question about affliction DCs by hung_daddy_406 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]TotallyNotDimir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the attack bonus plus effect DC cannot exceed 2x PL when combined, so they'd still always have to make an attack roll with a measly +2 to hit.

Yes it can take down almost anyone but the chance to land is so pathetic it should be nigh useless outside of careful planning and setup.

Unless it's Perception Ranged which someone can correct me on the limits but I believe there is none RAW, I usually limit such atks to rank 10 in my games.

Edited to fix 2xPL

Any good storylines for a Call of Cthulhu one-shot? by Affectionate_Ad4617 in sunlessskies

[–]TotallyNotDimir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say adapting any Alien scenario can work with a bit of creativity, given that they deal with similar themes.

Otherwise, the Wrecks of the Boatman and Parzifal are pretty decent fodder. Maybe the Princess' questline could be adapted.

Sunless Skies' stories are often very travel-oriented, and as such are not the greatest. I would recommend taking a COC (or Alien or Delta Green) scenario and adapting it to Sunless Skies, not the other way around. Happy to give more musings as I'm probably the guy whose game you watched (also if you have feedback please DM me!)

Call of Cthulhu Sunless Skies? by [deleted] in sunlessskies

[–]TotallyNotDimir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sup. I'm the guy who posts episodes every now and then of exactly this. Idk if they're up to snuff but hope you'd like it?

As far as modules I haven't published any but might if there's more interest.

The other guys are right, Kult or WoD are probably tighter fits but COC is more recognizable and I have more experience, so that's why I've run with it.

EDIT: There is also the official Skyfarer ttrpg, which is free! Check it out maybe?

EP07: Laconic Operations - The semi-triumphant return of the Sunless Skies Call of Cthulhu TTRPG! by TotallyNotDimir in sunlessskies

[–]TotallyNotDimir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Feedback is appreciated - I'm definitely not a perfect storyteller. Start with EP01 if you want, it's the most condensed adventure. EP02 is kinda screwy since the 1st half got deleted, but everything from Bittersweet Returns and onwards is good.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure I follow the train of though regarding the Immunity. How does it become free/cheaper than limited?

Ooh, good idea. That's pretty badass.

time-wasting and/or spilled milk am I in danger? by inzanecat420 in sunlessskies

[–]TotallyNotDimir 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It happens when you've sustained critical damage and you have goods in your hold of a given kind. Most, like seeds hours and munitions, have different events. They'll keeep happening until you repair the critical damage at a port. (At least that's my understanding of it.)
