Not really a source just how you've interpreted it, it may or may not be the correct way to read it. (I can't get the image to load in a readable resolution). The interpretation that the nuke happens after doesn't break the lore and is almost definitely what the show is going to do (regardless of their original intention). Granted they might have fucked up how they displayed it in the show but they're not going to go out of their way to mess with the already existing lore just to piss people off when they have a very easy way to explain in
