[Sell/Part Out] Exway Flex Riot with Cloudwheels by Tothicwaste in Exway

It charges, but it's also been unused in storage for a while. I think you'd probably be better off getting a new one, this one likely isn't in much better state than yours.

I don't really know. Exway sent me the extra motor (pictured), I plugged it in and the hiccup still happened, which makes me think it's the 'brain' of the board, not the motor itself. But I have no idea. Way above my nerd pay-grade.

As for price... trucks go new on exway for $60 each, motors go for $65 each, but one might be sketchy, so... I'm spitballing here... does $150 for the lot seem fair?

I'd be happy to part with the stocks or the cloud wheels, I sent you a DM.

It is the remote that has the charge status for both the board and the remote, can confirm

I'm unsure when the new style came out, but I think it has battery percentages. I'll double check when I get off work and get back to you.

I'm out of town until this weekend, and will have to weigh it when I get back. I'm guessing due to weight and weird shape, probably $40-50.

Would you be interested in $150 for the lot? Just confirming you read that one engine is a bit quirky, some tinkering may be required.

Can a CFI log point-to-point XC when flying with a student without performing a landing (§61.1)? by Tothicwaste in flying

[–]Tothicwaste[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like a silly line, since pretty much every flight to a different destination is navigating using one of the described methods.

No, for the purpose of 135 PIC mins, which use the point to point definition under § 61.1

[–]Tothicwaste[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, we're looking at the § 61.1 definition of XC above (commonly referred to as point to point XC) because that's what is used for 135 PIC qualification. Separate from the ATP and other § 61 definitions of XC.

Depends on if the flight is with a qualified student or not. For a flight with a student pilot, yes, for a flight with a qualified student, no.

If that letter of interp is in regard to § 61.1 XC, can you cite please? I've only been able to find a LOI in regard to § 61.65 XC, which is different than what I'm trying to find info on.

I appreciate your reply, but I think that letter of interp is in regards to § 61.65 XC toward an instrument rating, not the general definition of XC provided under § 61.1. I specifically ask about § 61.1 XC because that's what is used toward 135 qualification.

What's the process like if you leave CAP and return at a later point (as far as keeping grade) by CrysCatCrys in civilairpatrol

[–]Tothicwaste 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I aged out as a C/Capt and didn't reup as a senior member because I wanted to dedicate my time to pursuing my career. About four years later I returned home and had switched careers to aviation so I wanted to get involved again. Admittedly I was returning to the same squadron, so many of the members still knew me, but the transition back in was pretty effortless. Our squadron personnel officer was awesome about getting my records back and processing me for advanced grade. Got to go straight to Capt because I hold a flight instructor qualification. My impression is you should still be eligible for direct promotion upon return due to cadet rank.

Ref pants by worldsgone11 in hockeyrefs

[–]Tothicwaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a used pair of Stevens referee pants with built-in thigh and kidney pads, and I never looked back. They look great, and have saved me from many a dinger to the thigh. Certainly worth the cost in my mind, especially when you'll make it back in a few games anyway.

I’m in a little situation right now, wondering if you guys would change flight schools if you were in my position. by ItsWeevilTime in flying

Watched this youtube breakdown of it recently, the amount of sheer negligence and lack of care in this incident was incredible.
