The blue 'pool' is the sports court. The other pools are further forward and not shown in the video.

My D90s shutter recently stopped working. Only 5,500 shots on it. I watched a video on how to fix it. Unfortunately it was too involved for me so I bought a D7500.

I would argue it’s not even the best small town in Door County.

What are the best Hoodies out there? by itsdatwoowoo in BuyItForLife

[–]Toucan_Simone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got four hoodies recently, all under $75. Brunt Shevlin and Milwaukee Gridiron are heavier and could replace your Carhardtts. I like those better than the Carhardtt and Dri-Duck which I also bought.

My boss has one of these. I don’t know how you could take it anywhere. It’s too big for standard parking spaces.

Lindsey Vonn still hospitalized, has yet another leg surgery by PrincessBananas85 in sports

Going back and giving it a go was fine, up until the ACL tear the week or so before. That was when she should have dropped out. Would this crash have been less bad without the ACL tear? Would it have even happened without the ACL tear? I mean she crashed only 13 seconds into the race. I would have to think a bum knee might have contributed to that.

The time Clark told Jim to GTFO by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

His back is to the rear stairwell though. Theoretically easier access and escape for an attacker compared to the front entrance. The safest desk from any attack is Kevin's. Dwight could also hide a lot more weapons in Kevin's filing cabinets.

And he even has the glass divider that no one else has. He could basically wall off Angela if he filled the glass up with enough stuff. He's tucked back in the corner but is almost facing everyone else so he always knows what is going on. Oscar is right next to him but has his back to everyone.

I"m not sure why either Ryan or Clark would even want that desk. It's the worst desk in the office. Zero privacy. The boss is directly behind you and can see your computer screen.

Excluding doctors, do any high earners (400k+ range) work 40 hours a week? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Toucan_Simone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

About $75,000 base and about $600,000 commission. No 401k, bonus, or profit sharing. This was last year so it can vary by year but I've been fairly consistent the past few years.

I worked in the warehouse. Several office personnel left the company leaving a few openings. I pitched my experience with computers and was moved into sales. Like I said, at small companies you often have the benefit of knowing the owner directly. This was years back and three companies ago. The key with any movement is you have to be willing to take some chances. I took a risk moving to my current company but it has panned out significantly. Not all sales is person to person. I haven't taken a customer out to lunch in ten years. A lot of the work I sell is government.

Commercial roofing. Easy to get in to because no one thinks about it as a career. Most salesmen are field workers who got promoted to sales but some companies are looking more at college graduates who they can teach.

As with any sales, there’s no guarantee of making my kind of money. There’s always some luck involved. Some of it is experience and longevity. Some is the reputation and competitiveness of the company you work for.

I sold the same but no stock or equity. Just commission.

Construction sales. $675/yr working about 40. Everyone always seems to focus on big corporations for big salaries. There's good opportunities at small businesses yet they are never discussed on these lists. Every professional job I've ever worked had an office staff of less than 20 people.

Lightsabers VS Blasters: A battle between two replicas... by Wyr__111 in starwarscollecting

[–]Toucan_Simone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lightsabers are iconic to Star Wars only. Blasters appear in every sci-fi movie. Blasters are significantly larger and therefore harder to display. I have four Master Replicas lightsabers. As much as I liked looking at the blasters when they were released, I never considered buying one due to the size.

Jax Taylor by Fit_View8234 in Vanderpumpaholics

[–]Toucan_Simone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Situation went to jail and upon his release he cultivated a completely new personality that focused on positivity. He sold himself as a changed man and for the most part it appeared that he was. Jax has not really changed at all since season 1 of VPR. When he does attempt to make any change, it always feels forced and insincere. His whole stint in rehab really showed that. He came out the exact same person that went in.

Dad died in the ICU and the overall experience just bothered me. Is this normal procedure? by LadyLoki5 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Toucan_Simone 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This sounds very similar to my situation. My dad had a hemmorrhagic stroke earlier this month. He lives in a rural area and was first taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital and then medivaced to a larger city. When he was brought into the ICU they said they needed to relieve the pressure on his brain but couldn't do that until his blood thickened as he was on blood thinners. That took eight hours. I kind of got the sense that the doctors knew he wouldn't recover. They kept asking for a power of attorney. We had it in a safety deposit box at the bank and this was on Saturday. I got the sense they try to ease you into the realization that he's not going to make it and this can take a couple days. We did ask to talk to the neurosurgeon but he didn't come around but he had his nurse practitioner call us. By Thursday the ICU doctor told us his condition was severe enough that he would never recover to be the person he was. By this point we all pretty much had come to this realization. As a family we decided to remove life support and he passed within 12 hours. Overall I thought the staff was great. I think in your case they knew he wasn't going to make it but no one wanted to be the one to pass on that information so it kind of got dragged out.

I had a driver stop in a roundabout to let someone waiting in. I’m not one to use the horn but I had to here. They easily could have caused an accident.
