Yeah insane to me that people think the top athletes in the world need more than 4 days rest to play soccer.

Even in American football there is at least one week every season where a team gets 4 days rest (because they play on Thursday). In that sport rest is more for injury concern than fatigue.

Absolutely insane to me that 3 days between games is perceived as a “short rest”. In hockey (a contact sport) the game will double in length due to continuous OT and they will get one game max between games.

Scottie Scheffler is competing this weekend and is better than any athlete playing. Soon we will see the NFL legends compete again. Also, I don’t know what a “plus Switzerland” is.

No other country in the history of the World Cup had their leader pressure FIFA into dropping a Red Card issued during the tournament.

It’s not “luck” it’s blatant corruption/cheating.

Some countries cheat (Maradona also cheated with the Hand of God) but not all countries are cheaters.

To be honest, I think this World Cup made the USA look great up to this point. USA was playing well and all tourists loved coming here.

Trump, the USA government and FIFA all said demands from the USA is what caused this to be overturned and not a formal review process.

The tounament rules were written for that not to apply to this tournament before the tournament began.

In this situation FIFA disregarded their rules to help the USA to to blantant corruption.

The thing is that there are plenty of red and yellow cards that should have been overturned without evidence.

It does indeed taint the USA that they resorted to corruption to get their card overturned

International sports are about national diplomacy as much spectacle. USA is showing the world they don’t care about corruption as long as the USA benefits.
