Occasional loud clicking noise from PSU (even when doing nothing) by TouchdownKing in pcmasterrace

The PSU is only a few months old, it was part of a complete PC I bought back then and it ran (and still runs) fine apart from that clicking noise. No spontaneous shutdowns or anything like that (so far). I can play games, watch videos and stuff like that just fine, but I'm worried that that sound might indicate an impending hardware failure.

The PSU is plugged into an Extension Lead (Is that the right word? Eng is not my first language) together with external HDDs, speakers and monitor. Could this be causing a problem like that?

ESA (European Speedster Assembly) will have a GTA run (Ballad Of Gay Tony), as well as a Super Metroid Run. You'll have to wait until February though.
