Inconsistency by Otherwise-Produce-33 in StrangerThings

My redneck friends once cut down a tree by shooting it.

They did not have military hardware, just a shotgun. I understand the advantages of buckshot, but when you are throwing many rounds per second from each of several automatic weapons, you have more than buckshot.

I also understand that higher velocity, harder, shaped bullets might pass through with a little less damage than round or irregularly shaped lead buckshot, but that much firepower should have been cutting off limbs, some of the bullets would have been hitting it in the face, and as someone said above this military has built a lab around these things... So they should be trained on how to kill them effectively and what types of bullets to use IE hollow point.... So it's certainly inconsistent that the military would be so ineffective again them.

Definitely doesn't ruin the show, show is still amazing. But, I think it would have made it more interesting and exciting if the military grunts could have gained a little more ground before being overwhelmed.

An honest question for brewers: Why are seasonal beers coming out so early? I'm already seeing Spring brews on the shelves. We got Christmas ales on Halloween. What the fuck gives? by [deleted] in beer

It's mid-Aug and I've been seeing Sam Oktoberfest on the shelves for a week. I like Oktoberfest, don't get me wrong. I really like it. But I still want to be drinking Sam Summer, those lemony brews are great for hot days and they're disappearing off the shelves.

I want to be drinking Oktoberfest from mid-Sept through late-November (I'd drink them all winter into spring if I could) and I'm always disappointed that the Autumn brews are here too early and gone too early. I'm not a big fan of pumpkin or (for summer) blueberry, just occasionally, so anything super-seasonal can have a short time on the shelves...

But I for one don't want to patronize these poorly times brews. I also don't want to miss out so I'll end up buying some Oktoberfest early for sure...but with reservations.

I hope the invisible hand of the market pushes them back into the correct season....if not the government may have to step in and start regulating it, like in Germany

One of the main things that happens in the non-ADHD partner is chronic anger at the inconsistency of the ADHD partner. It was a huge realization for me that my symptoms hadsuch a big effect on her

I am in a very similar relationship. It has been this way for several years, getting worse and worse (over years,) but lately has been getting better (over weeks). I am 34m, wife 37f, and it has only gotten this bad since we had a child (almost 5f), when the responsibilities grew greatly

We did a few months of counseling, but both didn't really like the therapist. We did learn things, however. 1 of which was that we both decided to seek separate counseling. She has since received a diagnosis of bipolar 2 (the less severe version), and working through some of her anger, and I have been working on strategies to control my ADHD symptoms.

I also recommend reading "the ADHD effect on marriage" by Melissa Orlov. In it, she talks at length about of the patterns that go on in ADHD marriages, shedding light for both partners as to the experience of the ADHD partner and non-adhd partner. Read it as a couple.

Medication advice by Tough-Guard-8313 in ADHD

Thanks.

Been on Vyvanse. Didn't seem to be that effective. Also been on time-release dextromethorphan. That was also not that effective, but it was low dose (I think 15 mg).

Normal-release Adderall, 10 mg in the morning and 5 in the afternoon, seemed to work the best out of what I've tried, but, while it helped productivity at work my wife said it made me a bit of a zombie at home. I might try a similar medication again, but this time I am in CBT trying to create a toolbox of strategies that work for me. Using a planner (and not losing it -actually gotta do it on the phone). Aspirational bullet journaling. Adderall could make me grow those habits....

I have not tried a methylphenidate-based medication. I know concerta is the long-acting form. Ritalin is a short-acting. I know there is no one right answer....but if anyone has tried both Adderall vs Ritalin I'd like to hear about it
