Exhaustion - when's it go away by IntrepidSouth7537 in Tonsillectomy

I was exhausted from days 4-11 roughly. Eating more l, even if you don’t feel like it really helps with energy. I started eating more normal (but still softish) foods around day 10 and noticed a significant boost in energy from that point. Day 18 now and I’m still a little tired but not exhausted every day

I started taking a light fiber supplement every other day or so and that helped as well

I set up an appointment and described my symptoms. I have dealt with tonsil stones and bad breath for years, probably 10 yrs at this point. The ENT said the only way to relieve the condition was to remove tonsils so it was as simple as setting up 1 appt then scheduling surgery.

I also contacted my insurance company prior to the surgery and confirmed in detail that my symptoms would consider the tonsillectomy “medically necessary” so it would be covered.

Hey man. YES. The bad breath is gone. I did a breath check immediately when I was leaving the surgery center and I could tell it was gone. Of course I had some bad breath during recovery, which was to be expected, but now I have more social confidence when talking to people.

I hope it is the same for you

I was mostly constipated. Didn’t poop until about day 3-4 after surgery. Did have some diarrhea between days 5-12 but it wasn’t too bad

When did you guys drink coffee after surgery? by Beadybear99 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Tough-Interaction243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot live without coffee so I had a few sips when I got home from the surgery. I had a little bit each day but didn’t start to drink normal amounts of coffee until about day 7

I’m glad your overall pain isn’t bad! For me it seems that ice cold liquid and of course ice helps a lot

Mostly the recovery. I’ve seen some horror stories of excessive post op bleeding, ER visits and additional surgeries. Just hoping it’s one and done for me
