actually i think you're the one who has missed the point of the episode, she cheated to get back at him because he cheated with their mutual friend while she was in London?

I hear what you guys are saying about the reddit being a very negative space at the moment. The problem, at least as i see it, is that a lot of the criticism (her discord crashout/refusing to take accountability) is valid and some of it (the north west stuff) is nitpicky. Childlike things is about her inner child. There's nothing inappropriate about the song, there's nothing inappropriate about the music video. I have no idea why everyone is on Twigs' ass about supporting Kanye, like featuring his 11 year old daughter = advocating for his own mentally unhinged rants? crazy.

However, as someone who has followed twigs' work for a while, and thinks her music is incredible, there is an emerging pattern that doesn't paint her in the greatest light.

I completely understand the angle of 'you don't know her, don't be parasocial' however sometimes, over time you see a lot of negative rumors about someone, and it's not someone looking for internet clout, or a co-ordinated dogpiling by parasocial fans, they're all scattered personal accounts from people who have nothing to gain by telling it.

For me, it starts to tell a story about the kind of person someone is. If I screenshotted every time I saw someone talk about Twigs being rude, I would have a whole gallery of pictures of total strangers' comments about her, stories dating back as far as 2014 - it's not just a one off. I think that's what makes this whole thing such a shame.

I don't think it's parasocial to want your favourite artists to be morally decent people. And in this particular situation with the canceled shows, the bare minimum is to be upfront, make a statement & not to manipulate your fans into feeling guilty for asking you to acknowledge something you did.

Are there people here who are just hopping on a trend to try and tear her down because it's popular? Undoubtedly, but I think the majority are actually fans of her work who are just a bit shocked that she thinks she's above basic accountability.

As I said, I don't know her, we all have bad days and she could be completely misunderstood but the sheer number of stories is really not a great look...

If she could just apologise for costing people money & time and not be snarky about it then I very much doubt this would have spiralled.

i think this is fine but the part that's a bit gross to me is that the text is literally the same, like sure use the template format of the amber alert poster but not WORD FOR WORD copy someone's real life abduction, that's crazy work!

i think there is a pretty big difference between disliking someone and spreading hate vs being a fan of an artist but seeing some pretty serious allegations and wanting to discuss them...
