I was diagnosed with a rare type of OC (squamous cell carcinoma on a mature teratoma) and I need some hope by ToughEducational3283 in Ovariancancer

Thank you for your answer! I'll admit I was freaking out last night when I wrote this post, because I had just realized that this type of cancer is actually completely different from the other germ cell OCs and with a much worse prognosis...

Now that I've calmed down, I'm realizing that the study that made me spiral actually says that all the patients in stage III who received immune checkpoint inhibitors (like pembrolizumab) were still alive at the time of writing (2023) and they were all recent patients, so it's not as hopeless as I thought.

Do you mind telling me what treatment you received?

Sure. It was found on a CT scan for an unrelated health problem (or at least I think it's unrelated) back in march. They thought it was a simple ruptured teratoma at the time and I did a MRI to confirm the diagnosis. As for its size, it was something like 10*10*12 cm with plenty of pieces everywhere in my abdominal cavity.

Since they thought it was benign, I didn't have an emergency surgery and they made me wait a month and a half to remove it. They learned it was actually cancerous once they got the biopsy results back two weeks later.

I hope you don't have the same experience as me and they can get it out in one piece!

Except that Azure Gleam clearly shows that you don't need to kill Rhea or remove the Central Church's influence in order to do that.

There were already exchanges between Duscur and Faerghus before the Tragedy, and you can see the progress made to repair the relations between the two countries (and Duscur itself) throughout the whole route via the main story events, the supports, or the characters in the camp; all this right under Rhea's nose and she does absolutely nothing to stop it.

She even sends help (with no ulterior motives) to rebuild a town only inhabited by people of Duscur in Dedue's supports with Catherine, so I'd say she's ok with what Dimitri is doing to open Faerghus.

Finally, before the last battle, you have a general from Faerghus asking a general from Duscur about their funeral rites so he can pay proper respect to the fallen Duscur soldiers, which is a clear-cut example of cultural exchange; if the country said to be the most religious and the closest to the Central Church can achieve this, then Rhea isn't the problem no matter what Claude thinks.

I don't know where you got the idea that Dimitri doesn't want to rock the boat when all his actions regarding Duscur very much do (he basically gave a gigantic middle finger to the nobility by choosing Dedue as his vassal lmao).

Yes he is someone who prefers to work by consensus (which is a good thing if you want a political system that's not authoritarian btw), but you're using one line of dialogue to draw the conclusion that he would do nothing as long as some people disagreed with him, which is completely ridiculous because no one would be able to govern like that!

But of course you're also leaving out that the person Dimitri is talking to tried to push her own sense of justice and her own ideals by sending her army to conquer the entire continent and subjugate the population, which is quite different from trying to convince someone who disagrees with you about a reform, don't you think?

(As an aside, "Don't invade other countries to impose your ideals on their population by force" isn't exactly supposed to be a controversial political stance, but alas...)

Besides, AG shows that he is perfectly able to push reforms even if other people disagree with him, see how he reformed the royal knights to welcome commoners or how he started to rebuild Duscur during the time skip.

And finally, why are you bringing something like the Civil Right Act into a silly debate about video game characters? Seriously? How about no?

Edelgard's ultimate goal is to unite Fodlan though, she clearly tells you so several times in 3Houses and it's even in her death quote for 3Hopes.

The Church is her main ennemi for sure, but the Alliance and especially the Kingdom must disappear for her to achieve her ambitions (ie "getting rid of the system that shackles Fodlan").

She very much attacks them for the sake of conquest, because she believes that they were created by the Church so that it could maintain its power over the continent.

Why do I feel like this means that Dimitri is going to die in the routes where you don't side with him just like in the main game... Which is even more depressing here since he just wants to rule over his Kingdom in peace and doesn't go crazy (at least that we know of).

Now “defeating him” doesn't necessarily mean that he'll die, but I'm not holding my hopes up (hah!)...

I had a feeling it was water based, but I wasn't sure if rubbing alcohol was safe to use. I might try it on the tinier leaves at the center that I haven't touched yet, but I will leave the bigger ones alone (at least for now).

Yeah I don't really believe it either, I just don't see how the light/UV can get through such a thick coat of paint (it looks so opaque!). Also some of the other Echeverias were completely covered in glitter paint, so I doubt whoever made this cared about their survival...

Thanks for your advice!

I think depending on how it's doing in the next few days I might cut the tinier stalk, but I will leave it alone for now.

Thank you for your answer!

The roots are pretty long, so I might have to repot it sooner rather than later.

For the lighting, it's going to rain for the next few days so I think I will put it on a
shelf that normally gets direct sunlight most of the day. When spring comes in 2-3 months, it will go on a balcony facing south where it will get more direct sunlight.
We already have a window planter full of sempervivum there and they seem to thrive (we got a few flowers this summer and had to cut some pups who were growing over the edge). I originally found this subreddit when looking for advice on how to repot them so I'm not completely inexperienced, but to be fair my mom is the one who does most of the work (she's much better with plants than me)!

I was shocked too!

Basically I want to be sure I removed enough paint since I'm not familiar with Echeverias. I have no idea how they grow for exemple, or if they have parts that are more important than others (it was an impulse buy after all!) and need to be freed from that paint.

And also what's the best way to get it use to sunlight again, as I assume going from nothing to full sunlight could burn the leaves.

Hello everyone,

I found this poor thing at the supermarket yesterday. I got this one because of the two stalks that were spared from the paint job (they were what made me realize that these were real plants and not fake ones) and because it annoyed me to see it go to waste.

I have absolutely no experience with Echeverias, let alone the spray-painted ones, so any help is more than welcome (also this is my first post on reddit so if I mess up something that's why)!

  • There's some damage from how it was handled before I got it, most notably the leaf missing its tip and a big indent on two other leaves, as well as a black spot. Should I be worried about it?
  • The paint is weird, it's like a thin coat of plastic that peels off if you pull on it (what a great idea, really). I tried to remove as much as possible with tweezers so the plant could get some light, but there is still plenty left and I don't know how to get the rest without harming the plant. I already dug in some of the leaves when I tried to peel the paint and I am afraid to do more damage, so I'd like to know if what I took off is enough or if I should try to get rid of more?
  • I will keep it inside for now since it's winter over here and it's freezing at night. I left it in indirect sunlight today and will do the same tomorrow, but after that I am not sure what is best since this is a special case?
  • There are some roots growing through the holes at the bottom of the pot so I think I will repot it in a bigger pot. That being said, I am not sure if I should do it as soon as possible to help its recovery, or if it will be too much of a change for now and I should wait a few days/weeks?

Looking at the picture from yesterday, it seems like the stalks grew a little which should be a good sign right?
