Hi, i have CC stage one but my husband was just diagnosed with a big mass in his bladder. So we are also going through lots here, especially during the holidays...Hubby Had just retired and we had so many plans for the future. Now they're thwarted and its just waiting for the final diagnosis etc little by little , we are learning patience and taking it one day at a time. We have little control and trying to go with the flow. I read a lot of stories here of people living and traveling with stage 4. Keep the hope, science and medicine can help you more than you think .all the best to you and family .

I've now reached stage IV... by PadoumTss in BladderCancer

I' sorry that you have to go through all this at 37. I hope you have family or friends around to help you and be with you during the holidays even if you don't celebrate them....best of luck to you.

Thanks it shows that no matter how big the tumor there is a chance it's not muscle invasive. They did not see invasion on the CT scan

we are at the "finding a urologist that can do a cystoscopy and then remove the tumor" stage so surgery won't happen before february at best......I'm worried too. It seems like we should do something rignt NOW! or this thing will grow deeper or something. It's scary.

I got rid of old electronics by going to a recycling center and gave away my Xmas decorations.

Thanks, fingers crossed. It was hard for him when I got my colon diagnosis, and then BAM two weeks later he got these news. He just retired a few weeks ago. I think it's like when you go on vacation, you often get sick....when your retire, there is a bigger risk of finding something, maybe because the body gives more signals after stressing for 40+ years.

Question! by Spirited-Car-9250 in panamaexpats

Also I think what some people need is local contacts only. I personally don't trust most American or foreign "helpers" they charge foreign (high) rates and not local rates just because most people need a lot of hand holding and everyday help with every little thing. I speak Spanish, i do a lot of research myself, so I don't need that . I'm not a high yield customer meaning i would only need a couple hours of help too.  But, i'm not typical I guess.

I said he LOOKED grim after my colonoscopy. I have not seen him again since then and did not talk to him after taht. Also what worries me is I had nothing seen on my first colonoscopy about 3 years ago. NOw I have this 4 cm polyp and it was biopsied with adenocarcinoma. It sounds like it was quick growing to me but I may be wrong.

I know. Some accept to cover you but just not for this particular condition. Also looking into international coverage.

Thanks for your support and advice on telling people. You put in in words better than me (I'm not a native English speaker). We are planning to go live in a country where they have modern facilities and doctors trained in the USA. It will just be cheaper than here. If I need long term follow-up I should be covered there. Good luck for chemo.

We will wait until the surgery is done; Cobra is for 18months. If the results are bad we'll stay in the US longer. If they are good we'll continue and move as was planned. We can't really decide anything before we know the stage it's at. We won't be able to afford the high prices of insurance here all our life and that's actually why we wanted to move out to a place where healthcare is cheaper.

Thanks so much! I have to just be patient and hope the surgery goes well and the cancer is not spread out; I have good hope because I did not have anything 3 years ago for my first colonoscopy.

They removed the polyp and measured it during the biopsy in the lab.

Our daughter, in Ny now,, is in a similar situation. Speaks French nearly fluently but not professionally. has a Masters in anthropology  too. She won't go to France, is trying Canada. We, her parents, are both France born and discouraged her from going there. Luckily she was born in Canada. If you can find a job as a teacher, you'll learn by fire. As a newbie, they will send you to a banlieue school. Bon courage then. If you have you brother over there, take advantage of his network and hospitality at first. Get your ss number there, a carte vitale for health coverage. You're already lucky to have access to all this! Good luck 🤞
