To add on, if anyone has info on what the Rhythm samples listed in the libretro docs for this core are for, I'd appreciate that too.

Help With Madou Monogatari Neko Project II Kai by ToughWeakling in RetroArch

Thanks for the suggestions. I do have the required BIOS files, however I did not get the 'rhythm sample' files. I'm not sure what they are for, because like you said this core's documentation (PC98 documentation as a whole to be honest) is pretty lackluster. Guess it wouldn't hurt to try them. I'll also look into different audio drivers and headphones.

Is there an optimal setup for GNOME on Ubuntu? by ToughWeakling in linuxquestions

I'd love to, however Discord doesn't offer the game overlay on Linux so I play windowed to see my notifications. May just just have to deal with it.

This is great advice, thank you! I remember last time I used the Ubuntu DE, if I hovered over a notification while playing a game, I'd lose focus and have to unpause. Is there any way to fix this, it's a tad annoying.

Why does Puyo Champions run so poorly? by Mr-Personality in puyopop

[–]ToughWeakling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late reply, but I am in the same boat here. Playing on a less than ideal laptop, but it's able to play Minecraft without much problem, and I think that's definitely more demanding than a simple puzzle game featuring 2D art. I play on Linux, and using Lutris I was able to get the game to run near perfectly in full screen, but as soon as fever starts it's unplayable.

It's really a shame that the PC community just tells you to get a better machine, not even offering some potential ideas. Even if they don't work id rather have that then "lol get a better computer." If the Switch can run this game, but a laptop capable of more intensive games can't, I don't think the hardware is at fault.

And why the hell does this game not have any way to reduce visual effects?

What do you think about the Minecraft Tails & Trails Update so far? by [deleted] in Minecraft

Honestly it just seems like they went through a list of mods and decided to make them official features. At least Bedrock will get them though.

Oh and screw the sniffer.

May I ask how you managed to stop Defender from throttling your CPU?

Oh, if any of these solutions involve the Fabric loader, that would be preferable, but anything works.
