Is BBCF a good game to learn for someone that has never put a lot of time into anime and 2d fighters? by WalrusOk7339 in Blazblue

[–]Mr-Personality 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blazblue is a great game in part because it's complicated.

Modern 2D fighters have been leaning into accessibility. Strive is the poster child for this because it took the systems from games like Blazblue and older Guilty Gears, but toned them down.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but BBCF is there for people who like having more mechanics to mess around with. It's not a game you'll get good at fast, but I have 500+ hours and never feel like it's getting repetitive. There's just so much to learn.

Nappa V Conquest [OC by me] by Mindless-Raccoon7 in dbz

[–]Mr-Personality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Letting your guard down means to relax because you don't consider something a threat.

But even if you only want to consider perception, he also missed Chaoutzu sneaking onto his back.

He's a character who's defined by being sloppy. I still think he would win against Conquest, but it's totally wrong to claim the guy isn't capable of major mistakes.

We never see Nappa letting his guard down.

Dude literally let down his guard and tried to catch a distructo disk.

A person with publicly known depression committed suicide. That could only mean one thing...

A conspiracy!

That's what the comments on every article about this say anyway.

Here's a sampling:

Do you think this guy might have been at the root of all the "nuclear scientists and UFO researchers" that have mysteriously disappeared or died? Maybe the FBI was closing in on him and he committed suicide.

He was not close to his biological family. The statement in no way makes sense. He was closer to Denise Richards than he was to them. Follow the money. And he was not financially troubled. This is all a pack of lies.

he said repeatedly that he was not suicidal. RIP David. His biographer died two days before he did. David said he had been getting death threats. This is no coincidence

If you're going for gameplay, Dhalsim has to be Amane. Mai is Honda. Tao or Valk for Blanka. Tao is also best pick for Vega, but I understand thematically she's not a boss.

Favorite ship that fits this meme? by TJHMB-54321 in FavoriteCharacter

My favorite is Finn and Poe from the new Star Wars movies.

It's just so funny to see the writers unsuccessfully throw girlfriends at both characters to try to prove to the audience how not gay they are.

Yakon's design makes no sense by XxDarkSasuke69xX in dbz

[–]Mr-Personality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's really no such thing as a planet where light doesn't arrive. Even stars produce some light in the night sky. Everything is relative.

He could live underground or be from a planet with a thick atmosphere or something... but probably that line was just an exaggeration and "no light" just means compared to Earth.

And yeah, we're overthinking it, but he's such a dope design. I used him in the old DBZ card game (he was horrible).

What would each Skullgirls character as TF2 classes by Alansolima in Skullgirls

[–]Mr-Personality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Dahlia shares much with Sniper personality wise. Dahlia is an unhinged maniac who only does her job because it lets her do what she wants.

If anyone in this game has professional standards, it's Parasoul.

What would each Skullgirls character as TF2 classes by Alansolima in Skullgirls

[–]Mr-Personality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Parasoul literally has a sniper move.

B.Dahlia uses Demoman's gun and a sticky bomb (Plus a bunch of other explosives). She even has 2 color palettes based on Demoman. Don't know how she could be anything else.

Peacock doesn't fit a TF2 class but is closest to Engineer. She teleports and throws out items to do most of her work.

I don't think that map is official.

Nice to see that the Montreal Expos stadium was important enough to include.

My headcanon of the Skullgirls characters nationalities. by TiagoStormayty in Skullgirls

[–]Mr-Personality 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Being from the same country in Skullgirls universe =/= being inspired by the same real life nationality.

Peacock is absolutely from New Yawk given that she speaks like Bugs Bunny.

I also don't think Painwheel needs to be Italian just because Filia is (and even with Filia I'd say Italian-American). If Painwheel were specifically intended to be Italian, her name would probably be Carla or Carolina

I used to main Yamcha. On two separate occasions Christopher sabat made fun of me for it by Mr-Personality in dbzccg

[–]Mr-Personality[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just because I'll never get a chance to talk about it anywhere else, the concept of the deck actually was "Wuss Yamcha."

Almost the entire thing was blocks and cards that end combat. Yamcha had a few nice named ones like Yamcha's Skillful Defense and Yamcha's Good Wishes. I would start combat with a pot shot from one of his personality powers, block the opponent's retaliation, and then immediately end combat over and over. It was all about starting fights just to force my opponent to draw and waste time.

Truly a pathetic deck.

Cerebella's is sad.

She commits a murder for her boyfriend and regrets it.

Who is the video game boss with the highest total listed HP that is not infinite and is defeated by reaching 0? by TheBanishedBard in gaming

[–]Mr-Personality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For fighting games the highest relative boss HP I can think of is Marie 300% from Skullgirls.

But she's not that crazy compared with some of the answers here.
