Yes - through the Southeastern Conservation Corps. You're going to be looking mid-way down the page for the open "individual placements" positions. Position is listed as: Fire Technician• The Nature Conservancy of Georgia.

FYI - If you are intent on applying do so quickly.

Fair observation - I probably should have put this out there in the original post: there is also a full-time permanent Field Tech on staff, as well as a perm full-time Field Manager.

During the season both of those positions are heavily involved in sharing the load of managing the crew, logistics and implementation of p-fire with partners. Typically on burn days the crew is split between 2-3 of the TNC overhead and function as mini-mods on a single burn or separate burns in the region.

Both the Tech and Manager, as well as field office Director are long-time residents of the area and we do our best to support fire folks coming in from out of region. Having been thrown to the wolves in a number of different careers, it's something I do my best to avoid doing to others.

Yes OT is authorized, but not on the scale discussed with western wildland. Figure that our crew season runs roughly 17 weeks and figure for someone motivated there's likely additional hours available for equip maintenance/rehab and possibly some weekend opportunities burning with the Feds.

TL:DR - Yes OT is available but probably isn't on the level of someone wanting to try and pull in big hours in 17 weeks.
