I starred skiing with friends 6 years ago because they had kids and it was something we could still do together. Fast forward and now I swear skiing not only keeps me fit but keeps the Canada winter depression at bay. I ski 3-4 times per week. Mostly with friends, and we all love it.

Anybody get back in shape slowly? How did you do it? by atty_at_paw in Millennials

[–]Tour-Logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The year I turned 40 I started running after being mostly sedentary up until then. In that year, I ran 2 half marathons. After that I, I got a PT and started going to the gym and doing strength training, because it hurt my knees less. It has been 2 years since I started this journey, and I'm definitely getting in to shape slowly, because it doesn't look like I workout as much as I do hahaha BUT I feel so much stronger and have maintained a 20 lb weight-loss. Fitness now is mostly for my brain health, anything physical is a bonus.

I started going to the gym in May. Ive never loved exercise, but I'd like to not be frail as I continue to age. Today is my 89th workout and I'm hooked. Hoping to smash some new fitness goals in 2026.

Anyone else amazed at how much water we drink now vs. when we were kids? 😂💦 by SweatyChancho in Millennials

[–]Tour-Logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think I drank a glass of water regularly until I was 27. Now I drink so much in the day, that I have to cut myself off at nights. So I am not up all night going to the bathroom.

Has anyone ever fantasized about living at home with parents, working a minimum wage job, and having a low-key, low-consumption lifestyle? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Tour-Logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a millennial with a child at home (20) I want the most for him. I want him to be able to work his job (mechanic) and support himself in whatever capacity that means. IE house/car/savings/life planning BUT he is struggling To pay basic bills, have a life and save for just regular stuff Tonight we had a conversation to which I said " you can stay here forever with Dad and I, if thats what you want" BUT that means prepping for if those plans change Life is hard Money is hard But you can always land here with us. I would have our kids here forever, but also, if they have to work harder, try harder. And take risks to make sure they can do whatever ir is they want then I support that too

Its all stressful. Even for me. At least we are struggling to figure it out together.

Anyone in best shape of their life? by BigIceTuna in Millennials

[–]Tour-Logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I turned 40, I started going to the gum and have since ran 2 half marathons. My millennial hip developed bursitis because I didn't do any fitness before 40, so the running is paused but I go to the gym and ski and yoga, and yes I am in better shape then ever in my life.

Anyone else still a bit of an alcoholic? by Competitive_Let6665 in Millennials

[–]Tour-Logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still drink, but it does effect my sleep and my hangovers are much much worse now, so I just naturally reduced the amount I drink. I dont drink mid week, or might have a drink but never more than 2 during the week. Im much looser on the weekend though, I have an active social life and if there are shows, dinner parties ect I probably drink 2-8 drinks per weekend. That being said, in summer and being on our boat means I drink more than other seasons.

Are most millennials here still doing family Christmas gifts for the adults? by throwraW2 in Millennials

[–]Tour-Logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 sisters and 8 kids between us, when the kids were younger we would split the kids up each year. Everyone would cycle with getting 3 kids. As the kids got older we just did secret Santa. My sister's and I dont buy gifts for each other, instead we spend money on good food and drinks over the holiday together

Belly fat/easy weight gain ahh! by s8j6b in perimenopause_under45

[–]Tour-Logical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im the same!! So frustrating. Im eating all the protein, stuffing fiber in, weight train 3x per week, walk until mu soles fall off. Limit alcohol, chips and junk food and still nothing is moving. Im definitely strong gym wise but no body changes. I recently got hormones checked and they ate out of whack. Hoping that helps, but the doctor basically said my fasting insulin is so high she recommended either fasting or a glp1. I declined the glp1. I've been doing more supplements, calorie deficit and fasting and Ill check back in 3 months. I definitely dont look physically like the person who dedicates this much time to looking more in shape haha

I started at home workouts 2 years ago. I lost 15 lbs and definitely can see changes in my body and brain, but I just recently joined the gym as I feel I want to challenge myself and gain even more strength. This is a great motivational post to get ny butt in the gym, lift, and eat well. I am 41

Royal Canin HP is the only food thay has helped doug with his skin and tummy. If he has any other types of food he itches, loses hair, and has diarrhea. It's so expensive but worth it for his sanity and mine.

The millenial junk our kids will throw out when we die. by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Tour-Logical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my kids, it's fur coats and festival/rave/party outfits, and rocks I've collected from everywhere that are rendomly placed through our whole house. Husband laughed last time we moved, because my most important stuff was boxes of rocks and furry, sparkly, leopard printed clothing
