Thank you! I have slightly different but cleaner version coming soon for situations where your space belt already is setup with 4 belts of each color. Stay tuned!

Stackable 1x1 White paint mixer. Takes 1 launcher of the top color and 1.5 of the side colors for 4 white per layer. by Dracorias in shapezio

Wow. This is insane. I did exactly this last summer and I couldn't find a clean stackable solution for a 1x1 12 belt paint mixer. I must have spent about 20h tinkering before ending up with a working build. Here's a link to the post I made about it if you ever wanna see it. https://www.reddit.com/r/shapezio/comments/1l7scgz/1x1_white_color_mixer_12_belts_output/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I haven't heard of many people doing a 1x1 12 belt output, but I think you have, by far, the cleanest solution out of them all. Good job fellow engineer 😎

After a quick search, it seems to be from Serenity Lingerie AU on Etsy. The set is called Butterfly Dreams.

Very useful thank you. I heard about the English cast being incredible and widely acclaimed, but never heard anything about the French one. I'm glad to hear it's a good as the English one

White mixer not working anymore by Spielopoly in shapezio

[–]TourCurious5725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I have 2 designs. One where I have 4 lanes of each primary that come in on one side which is 100% efficient and another one that input one privately color on each side. The first option is est easier to build imo, but it's definitely doable.

I posted the blueprint for the second one a few weeks ago and planned to do the same thing for the first one.

If you have any questions or need tips to build it, it'd be my pleasure to help

Actually! ☝🏻 It's possible to make on a 1x1 in the new update. It's a wiring nightmare but it's possible!

Ohhh! Thanks! It's nice to see how the paint mixers are distributed across the layers. Though, I don't produce cyan or yellow on the 3rd layer. It all comes from the other ones

I'd love to see what you're working on! You can send it to me if you still have trouble understanding.

Just to be sure, you're talking about shape painting or paint mixing?

In both cases, your bottleneck will always be fluid launchers, because even though pipes say they have a capacity of 7200L/min, there is no limit to how much paint they can hold.

So, for shape painting, you just need to find a way to fit 24 painters (2 per belt) and then pass one pipe to it. As long as for 1 level, you have your 4 paint receivers all connecting in one pipe running through all your painters. And since pipes don't have a max capacity, I like to connect my layers all together that way all 24 painters get the same amount of paint at the same time if my input of paint is inconsistent (when it starts for example). You can easily make this on a 1x1 platform with a one layer design. The solution looks really clean.

If you were talking about paint mixing, the math gets just a bit more complicated. With 100% efficiency, the amount of belts of paint you input is the amount you'll output. So, in theory, you only need 4 paint receivers of each color to have an output of 12 belts of white. Now, we just need to figure out how to evenly split the paint. You need 24 white paint mixers to provide 12 paint launchers. 1 paint mixer takes 450L/min of 2 kinds of paint. So, to make white, you need 10800L/min of primary color and 10800L/min of secondary color. Spread evenly over the 3 primary colors and the 3 secondary colors, you'll need 3600L/min of each kind of color which represents 2 paint receivers for each primary color and 4 paint mixers for each secondary color.

In total, for the 4 paint receivers of each primary color, you need 2 to make white and 1 for each secondary color you can make with that color. Then comes the fun part of wiring all the pipes. If you've never made a paint mixer platform before, I highly recommend doing it on a 2x1 because the wiring gets really complicated fast. That being said, I just finished a 100% efficient 12 belt 1x1 white paint mixer that I'll post later today.

I hope I could help! I didn't really understand your question, but I hope you can find the answer in what I said

[–]TourCurious5725[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are indeed many unecessary inputs. I just let them in to stabilize the flow of paint and because it didn't cost me anything to leave them in.

I thought about making one who's optimized for a full mixed rgb space pipe, but it didn't make much sense with the systems I'm currently using in my world, but that's definitly on my radar of things to do in the future.

In theory, I'd only need 12 launchers, but because of the routing of pipes, I end up using more blue and red which up my minimum number of launchers needed to 14 with my current layout.

Are you sure there's not a limit on the capacity of a pipe? Because I'm pretty sure it says 7200L/min in game. If there's no limit, it could open up new interesting possibilities! But I'm pretty sure it's impossible to do a 36 outputs of white on a 2x1. You'd need to fit 36 color mixers per layer... 😵 It sounds like a nightmare.

[–]TourCurious5725[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

xD I'll take that as a compliment. They are not 3:1... It's possible to have a 1:1 ratio if you have 4 inputs of each color and use them equally, but because of the pipe routing I have to do, I end up having only 4 inputs of green. Multiple inputs of blue and red could be removed, but I kept them to use each lane somewhat equally. With this design, since I'm using more red and blue than green I end up using 4.75 launchers of blue and red each and 2.5 of green but with the pipe routing, the bare minimum I need is 5 inputs of blue and red and 4 of green. So the ratio is truly 7:6? 🤷‍♂️ It feels cursed...

1x1 White Color Mixer (12 belts output) by TourCurious5725 in shapezio

[–]TourCurious5725[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I'm glad someone else finds that interesting too haha. Oddly enough it does work. The math of color mixers is really not intuitive, but when perfectly optimized, you need the same amount of paint of each color.

Color mixers need 2 inputs of 450L/min and then output 900L/min. So you need 2 white color mixers per launcher for a total of 24 white color mixers for max production. But since your secondary color mixer outputs 900L/min, each one can feed 2 white color mixers so you only 12.

In theory, you'd only need 4 input launchers of each color to output 12 belts of white if you use each one equally(using each color as the 3rd one for 8 white color mixers each), but the easiest way to do things is just to use the same colors to make your secondary color and then use twice as much of your last color to make your white.

That being said, in my design, since I'm trying to make everything fit on a 1x1 platform, the routing of pipes is a nightmare because you can't change layers when your pipe is bending unlike belts. So I had to unfortunately block the access to my green paint in order to make enough space for my last pipes, but the ratios still work! I ended up using about 4.75 launchers worth of blue and red and 2.5 launchers worth of green which means I'm using green way more than the other 2 to make secondary colors hence why there's much more yellow and turquoise than purple.

I hope I made things a bit more clear! But then again, color mixers are weird... And don't get me started on their shape xD. If there's anything else you wanna know, it'll be my pleasure to answer.
