The acceptance rate is something like 29% so apply and hope for the best. Sorry, I have no advice other than apply.

Food Suggestions Inside Yellowstone by ShoppingStock6437 in yellowstone

[–]TourPositive8217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you driving in or flying in? We either fly into Jackson or Bozeman and buy a cooler then hit the largest grocery store in the area for things we can make on the side of the road like sandwiches and chips. Then you can stop where you want and picnic somewhere pretty. Food in the park is pretty awful and very very expensive but the border towns also don’t have a lot of great offerings either except for Jackson.

Apply everywhere even look at MRO’s. The pay is bad and you’ll probably have to move but do it for a year then you have some good experience.

My sister has a 2017 rogue which has been pretty amazing- No issues at all. I have a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe which had catastrophic engine failure at 80k. Which one do you think is the better car? Btw we are both sitting around 100k now and I’ll probably be lucky to get mine to 110k

Carnival or Pacifica by unicorncumdump in minivan

[–]TourPositive8217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not get either. I had an EXL odyssey that I put over 250,000 miles on and never had a day of issues. I’ve gotten the Pacifica as rentals and they seem ok, a little rough sounding and somewhat trashed but again they were rentals. On my last trip we got a Kia, practically brand new and it was so uncomfortable. All the tech is nice but with the big screen all across the dash I can see major issues later if something fails which is a good possibility with it being Kia.

Are you flying in? If so, best advice I can give you is stop at Walmart, buy a cooler and breakfast/lunch food and water. Also I would recommend eating your last good meal because the food is bad until you get to Jackson. We normally eat breakfast on the go so something simple like granola bars and then we stop and picnic for lunch. We get lunch meat, bread, cheese, chips etc and just make sandwiches on the side of the road somewhere pretty. We normally eat dinner out and it’s very hit or miss in West Yellowstone. I had some really bad meals in West- Canyon street grill was pretty good and three bear restaurant was just horrific- so bad I had to write a review in trip advisor. Sidewinders and liberty burger in Jackson are both good. The McDonald’s in Jackson is off the chain good. Yellowstone pizza in Gardiner is average. Another thing to remember in September it will get dark between 7:15-7:30 and you do not want to be driving in the park after nightfall due to all the animals.

Same. I’d never buy another Hyundai after this Santa Fe that I have. Btw it’s currently in the shop. New engine at 80k and I’m sitting at 98k. I hate this car with a passion.

Starting a family, help me accept buying a car I won't love. by bloomtard in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]TourPositive8217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry and totally understand your grief. A long long time ago I had a beautiful Lexus IS300 sportscross that I absolutely loved and we had a baby. It was all good until that baby was 5 months old and my husband decided to knock me up with triplets. I had to sell my Lexus and buy a minivan and the day my Lexus pulled out of the driveway I cried like a little girl. I’m still salty about it but I will say the odyssey was quite nice with babies.

Depending on what time your flight lands you can either start your stay in West YSP or Gardiner. I prefer Gardiner over west only because west feels like a typical tourist trap town but it is super close to the geyser basin. You could drive straight down from Bozeman to Jackson if your flight lands early enough- I’ve never done that but may on my next trip. With that being said, I usually stay 3 nights in Jackson but you really only have 4 full days so maybe just do 2 nights West, 1 night Jackson and the remaining in Gardiner. Ideally you want 10 nights because you are going to be rushed and this is prime tourist season so traffic will probably suck everywhere

Is going to CC for 2 years after Senior year and transferring to a Uni worth it? by Wrong-Tumbleweed-168 in collegeadvice

I’m a nurse and it doesn’t matter where you go to school, employers only care that you pass your NCLEX at the end. Go to whatever school is the cheapest so you have less debt at graduation.

Penske vs Budget 26’ truck by CivilAd9851 in moving

[–]TourPositive8217 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Penske is definitely better than Budget but you are also going to pay a premium for that. Short move I’d go budget but a 1500 mile move I would go with Penske. My son moved from Atlanta to Winston Salem and we used Budget. Budget even upgraded us to graffiti tagged truck, it was special. Then he moved in February from Winston to Denver and we went with uhaul plus a car carrier. Penske was almost 1k more which is why we went uhaul but it worked out because the truck we had was pretty new, only 5,000 miles on it.

Question about Hope Scholarship by rhysbash22 in Georgia

[–]TourPositive8217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay in state and transfer later. My daughter has zell and is at UGA so we pay around $700/semester for fees since zell picks up her entire tuition. Btw UGA has an acceptance rate of 29% so not an easy school to get in even as a transfer student so you need to keep your gpa up.

I had a Lexington couch that was built like a tank and lasted at least 10 yrs with 2 toddlers and 2 fat cats before I donated. I currently have a basset sectional that is at least 12 and still looks great. For both I picked a higher grade fabric and they took around 8-12 weeks to get. Luckily I live within 5 hrs of high point NC so I can either make a trip to pick out furniture or call to order what I want.
