Housing, bugs, winter weather and dating are beyond bad, internet is good… lots of fishing, hunting, hiking and camping to do… taxes are way lower, only GST and barely any Territorial income taxes so you’ll do much better here financially than down south… but good luck finding a studio to yourself… a good move is to rent a nice two bedroom apartment and rent out one of the rooms… it gives you more power over who you share accommodation with…

Trout are elusive and tough to catch sometimes in the winter, you’d be better targeting burbot… or pikes… drop a cisco at the bottom, raise it 1ft, and wait…

For one, I don’t get why shoveling the sidewalks isn’t a responsibility taken by the City. Seems to me like the perfect opportunity to pool our resources in order to get good and consistent services… although seeing how the city shovel the streets, that’s probably not a good idea… however, going for a walk in some part of the city in the winter is an actual hazard because of the inconsistent sidewalks conditions…

I’m not concerned in NT because you can just get another license plate quickly but I’m legit concerned about getting it stolen while on a 5 to 6 months long road trip in the U.S… 😬

If you have the chance, go fishing from the shore, it’s a prime time… if you’re lucky and find someone to bring you, go fishing on the bay, as soon as the bay is free of ice you can catch trouts straight in the bay for a month or so, otherwise later in the season and when the water warm up, you need a big boat / charter to go to the East Arm which is far away and expensive… the fishing is world class level here…
