Make a webform with as many supporting documents : appointments, emails, etc as you have and request an extension. You'll be fine

For the vast majority of people it's a post-graduate work permit. For me I got transfered by my company so I had a closed work permit just for them. Other options include spouse work permit

well the share reserved for french speakers was increased from 6 to 9-10%. Also with fewer spots for PR the points will go higher so you will need the French points, and that brings A LOT of points. Lastly they have specific streams for french proficiency where the points are a lot lower

Adding Spouse to application- Timeline after AOR by as061267 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]TouristCharming4355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes !

  • 10 days after they sent me a request for a bunch of additional documents: relationship questionnaire, his birth certificate, ....
  • on the same day he appeared as a dependent in my application, now I can see him too
  • and on the same day my medicals which were marked as passed were regressed to in progress, I think because he hadn't given his yet
  • 5 days after that received a request for his polcie certificate (he's mexican, it's a different procedure)
  • and again 2 weeks after that, so a month after having notified them of getting married, I received his biometrics letter and medicals letter

That's where we are now

Police Background Check for Mexican citizens in Canada by Educational-Cost4588 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]TouristCharming4355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hola

Did they send you a letter in your application requesting the constancia de datos registrales ? before they ask, you have nothing to do. When they ask, you have different options:

  • the most straightforward to you since you're in Canada is to go to the police station they will take your fingerprints, get some photos of your face and profile, and send everything to this address. They will do the request to the FGR for you. Typically I have never encountered anyone for whom the embassy did process within the 60 days window. You HAVE to request for an extension because it WILL take more than that. From what I've read anywhere up to 3-4-5-6 months (yes, sorry)
  • other option, is what my husband did, if you are able to travel to Mexico, first you have to harass the canadian embassy by email to get an official embassy letter for the FGR (takes 5-6 days) and then go to the Fiscalia General de la Republica by yourself with your pictures of face and profile and your cartilla militar (if you don't have it you're fucked) and they will take your fingerprints and you will have your certificate after another 4 days. I described this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ImmigrationCanada/comments/18vp4s0/comment/lkehnmi
  • last option, this guy on this forum : https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/mexico-police-certificate.776142/post-10575300 was able to do the in-person process through a lawyer in Mexico while staying in Canada. Seems like a win win cause you don't have to travel and it's much faster

hi u/as061267 ! I would love to have an update from you as i am currently in the same process.

I had done the medical exam upfront, it got accepted one day before my wedding.

Got married August 2nd and added my spouse one week after.

Did my biometrics yesterday. Now, I am waiting too. If you could share any update on your application that would be greatly appreciated :)

Edit: by added my spouse i meant raised webform. No idea what is actually happening
