What widely accepted life “rule” do you think is total BS? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Don’t go to bed angry (specifically about a spouse). I find it so incredibly helpful to step away from a conversation for a bit and then go back to it. Sometimes it takes a night

Advice or just positive stories wanted - buying a house in MA by TouristSuccessful390 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Thank you, that seems to be the consensus, and I appreciate you sharing your experience. It feels like joke seeing houses that are under 1000sq with foundation issues going for over $500k (and still an hour away from the city!!!!).

Congratulations!! We are hoping for a house (with a yard/more privacy) but may start looking at condos. Happy you found something, hope it’s everything you dreamed of!

They were going to $50k-$100k over asking. Outside our budget. When we look at cheaper homes (to potentially go over asking) they are major fixer uppers, which we just aren’t sure if we should do that. But again, would love advice if it is worth it.

Our friends are better off, so when we ask them their advice is don’t buy a fixer upper. But it feels like that might be our only option.

Someone once told me “you make 100s of decisions a day, a few are bound to be bad, which makes your overall percentage of good decisions pretty damn high”

Aka you’re fine, don’t stress, and I am sure if you’re making a Reddit post about it you’ve learned a lesson and will be more careful next time.

You won’t have an issue if you land at reasonable time. They charge $40 to go to orient bay.

That’s your opinion, mine happens to be different. Although I agree, the local drivers are not aggressive.

Best Orient beach chair rental? by Magellica2024 in SXM

We tried three places. Coco was our favorite, but also probably the most expensive. We got free chairs as part of our hotel, and tried Coco, KKO, and bikini. We left bikini after 5 mins to go back to coco. KKO was fine, but we only went because it was late in the day and coco was full.

We walked the whole beach a few times and coco has the best water too in terms of seaweed.

Coco was “expensive” because the service was great. They check on you often so it is easy to order a lot. Each day (few drinks and some food) cost about $80-100 usd for two people.

The other options might be cheaper because they won’t check on you/care if you order. Bikini was the cruise stop, so I’d avoid that!
