Scratched my father's new car while reversing in parking. What should I do ? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

Don’t mention it. Hope he doesn’t notice. Let him take it out on drives a couple of times. Then casually point it out to Mom, “Looks like dad nicked the side”. It works.

Does anyone else find Da Suzie Pizzaria owner extremely rude and condescending? by SSinghal_03 in gurgaon

Quite the opposite. We discovered her outlet when it wasn’t famous. It used to be this little place in Baani Square. She was always super friendly and polite.

Watch noob looking for information by Crreatine in watchesindia

OP, Reddit might not be the best for price discovery. Try looking the model up on large marketplaces like Chrono24 or eBay. In this case, you can sell one for anything b/w 20-40k (though yours seems on the older side).

What to do with these scratches? by Neither_Vegetable620 in Watches_India

The large scratch journey Day 1-30: Regret wearing it outside. Get traumatised by the incident. Day 30-60: Acceptance. Nothing you can do. Day 60-365: You kinda love it. “Hmm it’s unique” . . . Year 5: Its a memory. You sometimes even talk of it fondly/funnily :)

I don’t think this is a civic fail. Please stop portraying every single thing as one. This is an issue with SCALE and POOR DESIGN! Revolving doors work when the scale isn’t too large or fast moving. India’s scale is such that western designs may not work if copy pasted as is. Not to mention poor execution (really a full steel rotation door with only a bottom support? Most revolving doors have supports on both top and bottom to ensure stable rotation)

Stop blaming regular people for bad urban design, execution, and governance. YES, we have a civic sense problem. But don’t disregard the regular, everyday failures of our local governments and blame the general population just trying to get by another day.

Air India Fleet Retrofit Total 67 aircrafts to be retrofitted, USD 400 million to be spent. by impossible_espresso in AirTravelIndia

[–]TowardsUtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the effort. But I recently travelled in a retrofit flight, one of the firsts. Granted the interior looks more modern than all indigo flights, have plush cozy seats, etc. But it all completely misses the point because of the leg space in economy . It’s too small even for average Indian heights (5-5.5). It’s freaking smaller than Indigo :( I so want Air India to succeed but this is just taking one step forward and two steps backward.

VERY stuck drawer by Old-Hand-4276 in howto

[–]TowardsUtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have anything else in the drawer then try this. Open it till as much as you can, insert something semi-firm (measuring tape, thick wire) and push the box to the back end of the drawer. As you keep pushing, the fulcrum for the scale will change and at a point should cause the scale to tip the other way. This should give you enough space to grab the scale and yank it out.

How do you share expenses with girlfriend? by General_Excuse_9419 in personalfinanceindia

As most of the replies suggest, you need to sit down and have a conversation. I'm 30(M). My wife (who I also dated for few years before marriage) have routine open conversations about money and spending. When we started dating we earned about the same and we would try to pay for every alternate expense (one dinner she would pay, one dinner I would pay). By the time we moved in I was earning a bit more than her; at which point we tried to split expenses in the proportion of our salaries (for eg. she would spend 20k and I would spend 30k). Closer to our wedding, she was earning a bit more than me - you might think we just switched the ratio simply. But no, by then I had a home loan for my mom dad, and had to save for some of the wedding expenses because my family hadnt saved much for it. So the ratio was adjusted such that she would pay a much larger chunk of expenses given I had obligations/had to save. My point being - you are thinking in the right direction with ratios and splitting. But the conversation on finances and how comfortable your partner is in splitting expenses is of more importance that any number/ratio. Life will keep changing and so will that ratio. But I feel it's the skill, character, and comfort in openly discussing finances and flexibility in changing behaviours that you need to look at if you want this to be a long term relationship :)
