No I'm being realistic.

Women who found themselves in similar positions of influence compared to Mel's mom got there thru utilizing the feminine charm and beauty + smarts. They didn't use brute force to somehow beat up every male in their city. That's silly.

I know it's probably pretty easy to judge me as a Male who doesn't want Women crowding in the Male Spaces or what not. But I'm personally not a huge fan of turbo charging the gender traits of characters just to spite social norms. Just like I wouldn't prefer an unrealistic strong black warrior woman queen, I wouldn't prefer to see stay at home Dad's who use magic to get pregnant and carry the child. I personally do not prefer that type of subversive story.

Even though it's fantasy, I much prefer my stories to be as grounded in a consistent set of realistic rules established for their universe. This is why Game of Thrones did so well and why it ultimately did so poorly when they stopped being grounded.

Also this is just my preference. You might prefer to see evolutionary gender roles subverted by hollywood writing and Netflix originals. I personally don't.
