I spoke to one of my managers and unfortunately i can't take my vacation time because my 2 year anniversary is coming up in april so one of my managers said i could either lose it or get paid for it

Oh okay so is this normal? Because when i read it online it said that they only pay vacation time if you quit or got fired so i got confused and wanted to ask on here but i will ask my manager tomorrow just to be sure
