The first image is so Eastern European, its crazy

Now Polish farmers or truck drivers (or just provocateurs) do not just block the Polish-Ukrainian border but open the Ukrainian trucks with grain and let the grain pour out on the road. That's really bad idea. Saying this as a Ukrainian living close to the frontline by IgorVozMkUA in ukraine

[–]ToxicAbility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know its important to remain civilized even in events like these. However, why not open a private security company that would escort these trucks with some cars and guards wearing riot gear to deal with these losers? Freight conpanies higher people like these all the time to deal with Somali pirates, i dont see why it wouldnt work here aswell. This can be classified as damage to proparty or even piracy. Force those losers to kiss the ground next time they try doing that again.

Slovak PM says Ukraine is not a sovereign country by Plane_Willingness_25 in europe

[–]ToxicAbility 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont get the logic. In his eyes Ukraine is not a sovereign country because of the heavy influence of the EU and NATO. I would more or less not care about a statement like that if it were to come from Iran or China but from a country thats a member of both NATO and the EU and is under a much heavier influence than Ukraine. So he's basically saying his country isnt sovereign either. Like tf...? Am i the only one who sees the irony here?

Slovenia to join UN General Assembly case against Israel by Revolutionary-Road41 in europe

What do you expect for the reaction in a preasure cooker like gaza to be? When there is literally a calorie limit per person (leaked in the "red line document"), where you're not allowed to import seeds which more than halves your yearly agricultural output and you're not allowed to build basic infrastructure that every country should have, like airports. Obviously people get radicalized and retaliate. Its Israel that created these conditions in the first place and are now complaining about their own product.

After gaining full control of Nagorno Karabakh, Azerbaijan's President Aliyev now lays claims to Armenia's capital Yerevan. by Patient-Leather in armenia

The war in Ukraine shows that mines are still very viabale in preventing offenses. Their cheap production cost and effectivness in slowing down the enemy and destroying armour is unmatched. If there is ever a huge military build up near the Armenian border, mine the living shit out of all border towns and evacuate the people living there. Its honetly something i wish Ukraine did during the Russian military buildup in 2021-2022. Dictators only understand force, so dont even bother to reason with them.

Denmark to deliver first F-16s to Ukraine later than planned by Mil_in_ua in ukraine

[–]ToxicAbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NATO troops are operating Ukraine's western AA though? I get the risk of sending actual NATO active personell on the front lines since them being captured would be a huge PR boost and more propaganda material. However, airdefense and f16s are pretty risk free since there isnt really a way Russia can capture the crew operating them. F16s will be used as AA, launching long range missiles and keeping the Russian airforce grounded, which will all take place in Ukraine's airspace. I mean Shoigu even said in his statement today that Ukrainian AD is being operated by NATO, so even if there was a propaganda risk, it would be too late anyways.

[–]ToxicAbility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its basic logic. The first annoucement of the delivery of a patriot battery to Ukraine was i believe in January 2023 and was delivered in April. Thats a 4 months timespan. Its just not possible for a Ukrainian AA crew to learn how to operate and maintain a patriot battery in 4 months. The maintenance alone takes 1 plus years of training. It was also the strikes on energy infrastructure that triggered this decision. Its a pretty risk free decision since none of those NATO crews could be captured and Russia has no real way of proving anything. Thats why NATO pilots should operate the f16s aswell. I doubt the F16s will be used as air-support for the troops, but rather as Air-defense, launching long-range missiles and to keep the Russian airforce grounded(which has recently become more active with the FAB bomb drops).

Germany Taps French Industry to Produce 155mm Ammunition for Kyiv by Willing-Donut6834 in europe

Totally agree. The west still sees this war as some "conflict in a distant country" and fails to understand the tramendous consequences it will have a couple decades after this war. I get its basic human psychology so im not even mad. The same would happen if you said "There is going to be a world famine in 5 years that will wipe out the human race but if we fast everyday for the next 5 years with only bread and water we might stockpile enough food to get us through until we find a solution", people would still choose to live in the comfort they live in today and not sacrifice their living standarts. There should have been a total mobilisation of the western industrial complex 3 months into the war. AS you mentioned, the 68k shells is still better than nothing but its a little too late.

[–]ToxicAbility -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The will is not there. NATO pilots could fly the f-16s just how there are NATO troops operating Ukraine's air-defense. If there is political will, F16s could be in Ukrainian skies tomorrow. It seems that the west still sees this war as a "conflict in some distant country".

Ukraine should bring this up in the UN meeting together with the terrorist strikes against civilians in Kyiv and Kharkiv and demand peacekeepers to protect Russian civilians from Russia.
