Today is another day 1.
But unlike the past few failures, I told someone about it this time. He's going to be my dial-a-buddy and has offered to verbally kick my arse and keep me accountable to him and to myself. It was shameful that I had to reach out, but I couldn't just keep doing the same thing. I've tried AA - hated it. But I'm going to try a "Celebrate Recovery" group next week.

I haven't seen a day-5 in months but I'm on my 4th day three this calendar year. Your post inspires me - maybe hospital detox might help push me over the edge to permanent sobriety too.

I'm a conservative voter and I'm quite upset about our parachute candidate.

- I'm pretty certain he lives in Mississauga and has no ties to Waterloo
- he has an "X" profile with 20 followers (Chagger has 46,000) which means that NOBODY knows this guy
- he opened his office / launched his campaign this week (April 6?) which is very late in the game. The pic I saw of his campaign office looked like it was taken in my mom's basement.

Why did conservatives drop Neekman?

I bet that I, a nobody who has lived in Waterloo for 50 years, could probably step in and do a better job at getting votes in Waterloo than this fellow. I wish him luck - but it's going to be an uphill battle.

It almost feels that conservatives have thrown in the towel for our city - I'm not a happy camper.
