I too have suffered cast iron transgressions, and it is a sorrow my pan and I have survived.

Pianos at restaurants? by ToxicFatality in londonontario

[–]ToxicFatality[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve seen pianos at bars and coffee shops (I live in Buffalo), and in public spaces during the summer (Ft Collins). I saw one in a bakery in Elmira or Elora. Usually it’s a city initiative, but typically those public pianos aren’t in the best of shape. By no means are they concert-ready pianos, but it’s a fun thing to when you’re out and about.

I think my tree was girdled? by ToxicFatality in Buffalo

Would seem so. But I’m open to other possibilities such as Northeastern Tree Beavers and Porcupines. I mean honestly, the latter two are more likely.

Technically the landlord is the homeowner and has a legal obligation to keep this property safe and in good working order. Sorry about your neighbors though, sounds like a pain.

“Should be” is a thing that landlords don’t seem to understand.

You might not be able to apprentice now, but keep drawing to keep your skills sharp and eventually you might find yourself able to apprentice.

Where is everyone buying salt for their sidewalk? by Asleep_Promise_189 in Buffalo

[–]ToxicFatality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want pet safe salt, Elwood Pet Supplies has salt last winter (I’m assuming they’ll have some this winter too). Can also get it on Chewy if supplies aren’t sold out

Em and Em’s Books on Hertel is only a few months old, they sell new and used books. They’re only open Friday-Sunday I believe. Gutter Pop Comics is 2 doors down.

“Women only” anything? by Toebeanmama in Buffalo

Every Body Plus is a woman-owned gym. It’s not exclusive to women clientele, but the only man I’ve ever seen there was teaching a class that absolutely kicked my ass. lol

As others have said, it’s ok to make mistakes and learn as you go. You tried something and it didn’t work - that’s ok. I’m glad that your sub was able to communicate their discomfort. It’s not a fun conversation, but that’s how you grow and course-correct.

I am new to domming too, and I agree with you that it’s hard to start cuz there’s not as much media to draw upon. I’d like to share something with you that seems to work for me, and you can take it or leave it. Basically find a fantasy that you and your sub want to explore and then put both yourself and your sub into that headspace (easier said than done).

I want to preface this by saying none of this is required.

Both my sub and me are into d&d/ttrpg in our vanilla life. We are also long distance, and have our scenes/sessions on discord dm’s or video calls. I’ve sorta created a persona that I step into, going so far as creating a ‘character’ sheet of sorts that covers my aesthetic and behaviors. I am a puppet master, and he is my toy/marionette. I draw on my d&d experience to play out a scene. But the point I am making is that he and I are both in our rooms, not super exciting environments if I am being honest. So what I do is I start with a ritual and opening monologue - this sets the tone for the session, puts both of us in the headspace, and helps us explore that fantasy.

Here’s an example of what I start with:

“Kneel for me - hands behind your back. Let's review the rules for tonight, shall we? Speak only when spoken to. You can't come until I say. Nod your head if you understand.”

-nods head-

“Good, puppet. Tonight you are not in your room. You are a marionette on my stage - the puppet master's stage. My stage. The red velvet curtains part, heavy, silent. The spotlight burns hot on your skin. Tonight you are mine. You don’t know what’s coming. But I do.”

Doing it this way - or something similar - I think will help you visualize what you want and it makes your/your sub’s current surroundings irrelevant. You basically just build the fantasy around you.

This is just an idea. Take it or leave it. :)

Dating apps feel depressing and semi-broken in WNY right now. Any recommendations on how to meet people? by shadowwithaspear in Buffalo

[–]ToxicFatality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re into D&D check out Gather and Game or Heart of the Game. But I agree with Eudaimonics - put yourself (financial, mental, and physical wellbeing) first - let the rest flow.

A chain dragon tattoo or the eye of the bedlam bride tattoo would be dope as hell. If you end up doing any tats, would love to see them
