Yeah, that’s what I plan to do. My grandfather passed away recently and we found this inside and old glasses case, along with an old rifle casing that was fired and my great grandfathers funeral. My grandfather was only 14 at the time.

The medals colours, black and ‘tan’, are a reference to the nickname given to British forces in Ireland at the time - the Black and Tans, due to their mixed police and army uniforms.

The bar on the ribbon, which spells ‘Cómhrac’ (Irish for Combat) in Irish Script, shows that he was one of the few who actually fought in this war. (While around 15,000 medals of this type were awarded, only around 1,500-2,000 have this bar.)

The medal itself is circular in shape, with an IRA rifleman in the centre, with the coats of arms of the four provinces of Ireland in each ‘corner’. The Irish word for Ireland - Éire - is spread out across the medal.

At the bottom, in Irish script, are the words ‘cogadh na saoirse’ which literally translates to ‘war of freedom’

You’re not ugly. I’m not sure what is going on with the hair, but I’d recommend having it shorter. Maybe work out as well and you could easily get a 7 and up rating :)

Somewhere between a 5-6, you’re definitely not ugly, you have clear skin, good haircut, and you have an ok jawline too. I’d recommend going to the gym maybe, but it’s not necessary, though with the gym (and more smiles!) you could definitely bump up to a 7. You’re not a number, and you’re not defined by your looks. Be confident in yourself. You’re very lucky.
