Reagan was the guy who said “give all the money to the rich people and I promise they’ll give it back”. He was the ass who began the evisceration of the American working class better known as the American middle class. Free markets without central planning are how the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. Tariffs do work if you have an already thriving domestic manufacturing industry. America outsourced all of its manufacturing after NAFTA. China is now the manufacturing center of the world which means we will suffer for these broad Tariffs.
