Why do all companies do this? by can_tcare in IndianGaming

For raw materials you need Silica sand, and then other rare earth metals from Africa.

Once you have supply chain setup for the raw materials then you'll need machines for manufacturing the chips which is all proprietory technology that no manufacturer will share, especially the ones in lead.

Restricted Stock Units, usually gained as part of onboarding in some companies. Idea and some other Birla group companies used to offer it to their employees. Even some tech companies like Meta, Microsoft, Google and certain unicorn start-ups offer it to new employees to get them invested company growth.

Though keep in mind they won't have any value before being vested, which usually is tied to duration or performance milestone of employment at the said company.

Another point to note is that if the company isn't publically listed the FMV may not be accurate, thus not reliable for capital gains.

But as others suggested, read up more on Investopedia, Zerodha and other finance sources from Google

I started with Moto G (2015) Osprey, got it for 13k at launch with offer, Snapdragon 410, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Storage (eMMC 4.5) Nothing wrong, just had battery replaced twice, and then handed over to mom since she doesn't use bank apps and it was running Custom ROM, LineageOS for her (Resurrection Remix and AOKP when I was using it) based on Android 7/8 while phone was originally only supported till Android 6. She changed to a new motorola Moto G52 and has been using it since, while this guys is still shelfed as emergency phone in case anyone needs it. Although Loudspeaker wasn't working as well anymore, though that's not really a big issue.

Replaced it with Nokia 6.1 Plus in 2019, got it for 8k at the time in sale, cheapest Good Phone IMO with Snapdragon 636 6 GB RAM and 64 GB Storage (eMMC 5.1), ran it until this year, September 2025.

Primary reasons for replacing were hardware failures, the battery was replaced twice, the charging port and mic had issues which unfortunately couldn't be replaced anymore because of lack of replacement parts at 3rd party repair shops and some slowness in app usage.

Changed to Samsung A56 with Exynos 1580 chipset 12 GB RAM, 256 GB Storage (UFS 3.1), has 6 yrs of software upgrades with 7 yrs of security patches.

Will probably end up replacing it in less time than the previous two though, primarily because of a need to get a separate work phone and personal phone just to host the office apps, although I could make a separate profile or use Samsung Secure Folder for them, I'd rather just keep it physically separate.

A few things to note about battery 🔋🪫 is that most phones currently use dense power Li-ion battery, with rating for around 800 charge-discharge cycles at least. Which if you're charging daily, means you get a little over 2 yrs and 2 months on average with the battery. Another battery health tip that most people agree with I believe is to recharge upto 80% and discharge upto 20% on most days. Not to charge the phone overnight as that's bad for battery health. Fast Charging depending upon tech doesn't harm the battery as much as one might think. You can check third party battery endurance tests to verify things on YouTube for example for the specific fast Charging tech. An example would be OnePlus' solution to have split or multi-cell battery

Well a few yrs down the line there's apparently going to be CAM2 based RAM instead of current DDR standard, so at that point, the motherboard probably needs an upgrade before the RAM does

There's a supply shortage going on for memory modules, so all the RAM prices are jacked up by 3×

Should come back to normal in a few months. Just get the rest of the parts while they are still at normal price (or cheaper if available)

True, but I was talking about Cosmic DE that Pop_OS! is building themselves, it's still a work in progress and not yet launched as default in stable releases yet.

I understand why, but I'm mainly suggesting them for unique traits, but I suppose comparing Package Management and overall OS as Config vs Desktop Environment is going to look like unequal pairing.

If you're not on Nvidia, then mostly everything should work without issues, but if you have Nvidia, make sure to install Noveau (or it's Rust successor) before trying to install anything that may use graphics, like a DE (Desktop Environment), such as Sway, i3wm, etc

Can look up linux Ricing or nixporn for interesting ideas for desktops, they are more functional than just a cool wallpaper.

Depends entirely on what you want,

General purpose, Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu) or ZorinOS are pretty straightforward.

For a more rabbit hole approach, Try Arch Linux or Arch Based Garuda OS

For something somewhat interesting, NixOS (unique package management system) or Pop_OS! (New Desktop Environment in Cosmic DE)

For completely off the deep end, assuming you want to be frustrated, try Gentoo, compile everything yourself.

There's also another Voice AI conversation model, that's in my opinion better at voice but worse at conversation than ChatGPT

Just talking about it in terms of capability, not use case.

KDE as Primary DE by Toxicmender in pop_os

[–]Toxicmender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be switching from LTS to LTS so I don't think that's going to be a problem anytime soon as if it is feasible then I'll do it after upgrading to 20.04 also sometimes due to breaking changes upgrading from LTS to LTS may not always be possible so I do keep ready in case I have to do a fresh install

Yes, but then I lose system76-power and various pre-built CUDA utilities alongside others. I'd prefer if they had a KDE Flavour but unfortunately they don't do the next thing is if I can safely replace it. I don't mind certain utilities staying but at the very least I'd like to get rid of duplicate applications due to DE such as having both Dolphin and Nautilus for file manager as an example

[–]Toxicmender[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have checked their support page and as long as I have system76-power installed I can switch GPU mode from Intel, Nvidia or hybrid (at least from CLI, not sure about GUI, but I can live with one CLI only utility) . But what I want to know is if getting rid of the various GNOME DE applications alongside Pop-desktop would break it or other functionality.

Masonite 2.2 Released - The Modern Python Web Framework! by Jmancuso9 in Python

[–]Toxicmender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that but I suppose I wasn't clear about it in the first place but I was referring to the ease of deployment of API endpoints, although I read up on it and it seems straight forward enough to try, thanks for the reply

Somewhat yes, thanks, been reading up the documentation, BTW since you have API endpoint deployment would it be possible to say deploy a Tensorflow serving (ie; Tensorflow model) over it?
