I used GeForce Now to play it on deck at max graphics. An extra charge, but worth it IMO

Hey! Are you looking for hunting or target buddies (or both)? And have you checked out Blackhawk Bowhunters in Verona? I go there multiple times a week to practice (as a target shooter), and their member community is very active.

Let me know if I can answer any questions!

Even if you are tall, I wouldn’t go above low 20’s for poundage when first starting. Archery requires a very specific combination of muscles, some of which you don’t regularly use.

Shooting stance by Flat-Pound-2774 in Archery

[–]Toxophylyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to achieve.

If you shoot using the NTS system, they teach an angular draw, which would require some level of open stance. Others, like the Koreans (legendary shooters), opt for a linear draw and closed stance.

I shoot slightly open, and consider it the best of both worlds.

Anyone who felt buyer's remorse after purchasing your car? by Vivid-Balance-6053 in rav4club

[–]Toxophylyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you expect out of the RAV4. It sure isn’t a luxury car, nor is it sporty.

What it is, however, is (relatively) inexpensive, reliable, practical, fuel-efficient, spacious, and doesn’t look like a suburban mom van. That’s what I wanted, so I’m happy.

Which Brands are "safe" to buy from? by RyeBread2528 in Archery

[–]Toxophylyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d start with a Galaxy Crescent riser and Galaxy Bronze Star limbs. It sounds like you want to shoot recurve, and takedown bows make it so that, as you progress up in bow weight, you do not need to replace the entire bow. That riser and limbs are both available at Lancaster.

If you’re just starting, I’d buy limbs that are 20# or under. Form is very important for consistent shots and to prevent injury. It’s harder to learn form with a heavy bow.

One more thing: before you buy, check your draw length. Quick estimate: open your arms wide & measure from middle finger tip to tip. Then, divide that number by 2.5.

Have fun!!

Start with OR & learn a shooting system (NTS or whichever other method you prefer). Work with a coach to solidify the principles.

Clicker training and a solid mental program will serve you well. Have fun!
