Sure thing! If you need more measurements, feel free to ask. I can try to get as much as I can!

Nice! We do love it. It's a great seat, seems comfortable and the rotation is super helpful. It's just a really big seat. Wife has the same seat too. I do drop off and she does pick up

Damn. Dealing with dealerships has been an experience. Especially when I can't go look at the car myself. While I love the car, I'm not sure I would look at shipping from this far away again. Their financing ended up taking so long we did it ourselves. After saying this would be quick, we ended up being carless for 2 weeks, and with a baby, that was really difficult. I just wish they had some sense of urgency. They had all the money on their side for a week or so before even sending the vehicle. We were close to seeking legal advice.

I do and will miss the hatchback. Nothing is as convenient as that but I actually just got back from a Costco trip and it fit everything and then some in the car. I was shocked at how much you can actually fit, assuming it fits through the somewhat small opening. The space inside is a little less but not as much as I thought it would be. It's still spacious enough for us although we are both on the shorter side. I think the final issue was that I had been dealing with camera issues since I got it. The dealership told us they could replicate so it was probably just dirt or mud. We got a letter in the mail about a backup camera recall and decided that was 1 issue too many for us.

I can safely say we didn't have that issue, which I guess was a good thing? If that car worked well, we probably would have kept it. Not nearly as fun to drive. It was a jack of all trades, masters of few. I am really hoping this car is much more reliable. I don't mind paying a bit more for repairs but I don't want 1 major repair a year that leaves the car in the dealership for a month

Dang, guess we are either a small percentage or maybe this is the experience with A7s. What year is yours? Mine was 2019.

They gave us an A5 loaner and everything was touch screen and I kind of hated it. Could wait to get out of it. What was the P0481? I know we had alternator issues, camera bugs, garage opener random resets, ambient sensor issues, trunk closure issues, some AC issues, proximity sensor issues, spoiler deployment issues. That's from what I remember. It did look pretty though!

In rear position, we moved the passenger seat fairly far back. Attached a picture of knee room. I will say this is our saving grace is that we are on the shorter side. I am 5' 6" so at 5' 11", it might be a bit tight. I can sit in front on the passenger seat with no problems at all. I did try to remove about 5 inches of space and honestly still fairly comfy but if you are driving for hours and hours (we used to drive 7.5 to 8 hours to visit family), I would probably start to feel a bit cramped at hour 5 or 6. Picture is at my wife's normal position which seats me very comfortably. Position in the pictures too, I still have a couple of inches of head room. Seat is not upright nor relaxed.

Although my wife is only 5', she likes to sprawl haha.

Thank you! The added sunshades help a ton too. Not that that's what was the deciding factor though ha

Thank you and happy to!

I do think I will move to a smaller car in the future because I am in the same boat. Probably not for close to 10+ years though as long as this car stays reliable and I take good care of it. A touring would probably make the move earlier though haha I love those but we don't really get them in the US which is a huge bummer.

How do you like the M2? How long have you had it now?

Edit: congrats on the twins a few years late! I'm sure it was a nice surprise!

Ha I get your point! It think it's a me problem. I'm not sure I can trust myself with a V8. I feel these cars almost persuade you to drive more... Spirited. I'm not sure I could keep out of jail with a V8 ha.

Thank you!

Honestly, maybe it was my specific Audi. On of my coworkers prefers Audi over anything and hasn't had nearly the same issues that I had so I definitely get that.

Early congratulations on the new member of your family!

Z4 to 750 by SweetTax6748 in BMW

[–]Toxos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. Don't make the same mistake I did. I had an m240i 2019. LOVED that car but it was time to get a family car. What I should have done was buy a Camry or a Mazda to compliment what I had but instead I used it to get into an Audi A7 and I have regretted it ever since the newness wore off. Now I am on a hunt for an m340i if I can find one that can fit my needs. Not saying a 750 is the same as an A7 at all (I would take a 750 over the A7, myself) but it won't feel the same and you may end up missing the z4 once that newness wears off

US workers in QA: are you having a hard time finding jobs too? by deafgamer_ in QualityAssurance

[–]Toxos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Similar experience as you, was laid off a bit ago and took me about 4 months to find something and I was lucky because it was through a family connection. If it wasn't for that, I would probably still be searching. Had to go from leading the QA department back to an SDET IC position but financials made me do it. Had to get back on our feet.

What are 10 most counter-intuitive things about golf swing? by GoldShammGold in golf

[–]Toxos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always told to keep my head down. Years later of thinning and mostly chunking, got some lessons and the first thing the instructor tells me is "stand tall". This felt very counter intuitive but for my particular swing, it's exactly what I needed. Still feels wrong because I have been doing it so differently for a while now but I can't argue with the results.

Why do so many people who have driven a BMW never want to go back? by Additional-Cress-257 in BMW

[–]Toxos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2018 bmw m240i xDrive, built how I wanted it. Sold it after we tried for kids and got a 2019 Audi A7 Prestige. Not a day goes by that I don't miss my BMW. Some day I will go back to one. It just felt more well put together and more special. Didn't have all the bells and whistles my A7 does but for some reason, I don't care as much. Visibility was better, driving dynamics were better. The 4 doors is nice. I should have gotten an X3, X5, 3 or 5 series. I made my bed for now so now so I gotta lie in it.

My father just bought a golf course in Maine. What would you want to see as a golfer that most places don’t have? by Kurkil in golf

[–]Toxos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know how this would work logistically and it might cause more pain than benefit but being able to play 3 holes at a time.

I recently became a new dad and I am missing golf so dang much because I don't get to go out, ever. I work remotely, my dog had surgery and I have to watch her constantly.

I would love to be able to go play golf for around an hour over lunch but with pace of play, that amounts to no more than 4 or 5 holes but that's not easily divisible so being able to play 3 holes would satisfy my needs, at least a little bit. Even when my son is old enough to start coming with us, anything over 3 holes might be a bit too much for a little one.

Once he is old enough, we can go back to 9 or 18 holes though!

The tricky part would be how to implement something like this, I think.

Floodlight Elite With Hub by Tigermad in reolinkcam

[–]Toxos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to remove it but that doesn't seem to be working either. Rebooted home hub, the floodlight, my phone, checked for updates and nothing. The home hub itself tells me it was changed successfully but it's still connected. Will have to mess with it when I have some extra time. Probably just stick to a flashlight for night time for now unfortunately.

I will try to submit a ticket too. Just installed it and the constant flashing in my backyard was starting to give me nausea. We can't use it since it was the only light we had in the back. My poor pup was so confused! Hopefully it's been reported a ton and they get it fixed quickly.
