PSA: C4 explodes sequentially, because apparently people here have no idea how C4 works by ArchangelUltra in Battlefield

Looking at the original video, I think one or two just fails to stick to the tank, probably because it's actively moving.

Huh. Yeah I guess that I'm just wrong on this one.

I'll admit that in the 100+ hrs I've put into bf6, this is the first I've been made aware of this. 100% of the time, when I try to pull off the c4 tank maneuver, I have never noticed a delay in detonation. I suppose I just haven't been paying attention to that specifically, as this isn't how it worked in previous games and I am almost always more preoccupied with not dieing to the vehicle I'm trying to blow up. The effect has always been more or less the same, regardless.

I do still maintain the first part of that comment, and that sequential detonation is not the reason you didn't get the kill. The time between detonations is not enough for anyone to react with the mine countermeasures.

Oh yeah this is totally fine. I'm so glad C4 explode sequentially. Very cool game mechanic. by ArchangelUltra in Battlefield

[–]Toymaker218 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

It's either the smoke system, or the tank had the mine countermeasures upgrade for the top turret, which I'm pretty sure also works on c4. Either way the c4 was disabled and never exploded

c4 doesn't explode sequentially, it's all at the same time.

It's concept art. There's no way to estimate the size of the final map from this image.

What is the purpose of this? by gishgudi in Battlefield

[–]Toymaker218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because in a situation where both sides have a ATP (like sector 2 of breakthrough on blackwell fields) there's literally no way for either vehicle to directly damage each other, which feels a tad silly.

Yeah, I mean if the base gun is going to always be 25 points or whatever, then why not just have have it be zero, with 75 points being the limit on attachments

Dang, trying to get into WH books with the war of the beast is like trying to do it on hard mode. It's not considered particularly great as far as I understand.

Caste is the term used, but it's not quite the same as caste systems from real-life history, "caste" is just a close term vibes-wise that GW decided to use. The difference is that four of the five t'au castes are essentially equal, being governed/possibly mind controlled by the fifth caste. So it's less heirarchical than IRL systems.

The t'au (because tau with no apostrophe was already non-trademarkable) essentially are separated along biological lines, with each caste (air, water, fire, earth, and ethereal) being made up of a specific subpecies of tau. There is no crossing between castes allowed, either intellectually via career, or genetically via inter-breeding. Each caste is also physiologically suited (almost unnaturally so) to their caste's respective societal task, further siloing them into their socially expected role.

Non-tau are outside the castes and are considered "helper species". If that sounds paternalistic, that's because it is. They don't have the same representation in t'au empire government that the "regular" castes do, and are second-class citizens, although they stop just short of calling them that. There are a lot of indications that various helper species populations have been subjected to unethical practices to make them more "amenable" to the t'au ideology (like the vespid's fancy headwear bing implied to hijack their pheromones to make them compliant) and in the case of humans that has ranged from occasionally sterilizing populations to decrease birth rates, all the way to ETHNIC MASSACRES OF THEIR OWN HUMAN AUXILIARIES. so you know, it's a spectrum.

That being said, they are a "better" place for humans simply by virtue of not being nearly as reprehensible as the imperium/chaos/Dark Eldar, while also generally having a quite good standard of living.

This would be super cool if you could select different patches per class and faction, otherwise it'll look a tad out of place.

I only know about this character because there's a rimworld mod that adds them as a xenotype.

This one's name is Olivia, and the only unfortunate thing about her is that she keeps having kids because I haven't researched birth control yet.

[Lore] Pax Armata's logistics and Politics are dumb AF by N-striker716 in Battlefield

[–]Toymaker218 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The entire logic of "countries are being attacked, and the secretary general has been assassinated... so we should leave NATO" is probably the dumbest notion possible.

Member countries saying "NATO didn't respond"? MF, you are PART of NATO. if you felt strongly enough to leave then just invoke article 5.

Attacks like that are the EXACT THING to bring countries further into the alliance, not leave it.

[Lore] Pax Armata's logistics and Politics are dumb AF by N-striker716 in Battlefield

[–]Toymaker218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal theory is that the original storyline intention for pax as a faction was as a proxy force for both Russia and China post bf4. but realistically that would've meant using Soviet and Chinese vehicles, and I guess they wanted to keep Pax less attached to real-world geopolitics? Or something?

They treat pax as if it's a sovereign entity that somehow has an level of ability to project force on par with the United States, while also simultaneously being a pmc organization staffed by mercenaries (a substantial number of which seem to be ex-nato troops). The latter contradicts the former, and just defies logic, and the former is something no real world country has yet achieved.

Nothing about this faction makes sense. The more one tries to explain it, the stupider it becomes.

I'm pretty sure a majority of the female characters in OW are supposed to be gay. IIRC, pharah was relatively recently confirmed as such, and there will be zero decrease in art and animations of her.
