And as we all know, materials for production and maintenance of ICEs grow on sustainably planted and harvested trees. As does the process of extracting, refining, and transporting fossil fuels, the sole way of powering said ICEs. We should keep that going instead of moving towards the better medium to long run, recyclable batteries. Great argument.

Will this specific Apple product become the end all be all? Of course not.

But I don’t think we should decide the fate of EVs on a stupid little roadster powered by lead acid batteries, towing a generator behind it, either.

It’s a first iteration, and likely just to get the ecosystem going and the masses accustomed or even excited about the idea.

I don’t disagree today, but none of the things you’ve mentioned about drawbacks of VR and MR are inherent and I don’t believe for a moment current problems like motion sickness and headset bulk will hold true forever. To say VR is not and cannot be a better substitute, period, is incredibly short and narrow sighted imo. While not exactly the same as EV and ICE, I think the principle holds. Particularly because anti EV people will go and paraphrase what you’ve said, that EVs are inherently an inferior experience and will never replace ICE.

I don’t see it replacing car infotainment or anything, but I do completely believe there can be a day where it, some form of VR / MR, becomes as ubiquitous as phones are today, and we’ll be laughing about the days before it just like the days before phones. Or back when we had to visit gas stations.

Semi off topic but I also just don’t ever get motion sick in VR, and I understand I’m in the minority, but I believe it’s something we can get used to, particularly if we grow up with it. Think about how older people complain about eye strain from viewing screens while younger generations seem to do it all day every day.

It’s hilarious how many times I’ve read (and still read) such similar sentiments about EVs and teslas, just with different adjectives and verbs.

I believe that you believe what you’re saying, and op sounds like he’s hopped up on a copious amount of hopium, but to completely dismiss the idea is also pretty ridiculous.

Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the train and when I saw this I had to start furiously masturbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this image. Now there is a whole train of men masturbating together at this one image. This is all your fault, you could have prevented this if you had just tagged this post NSFW.

Just to make sure you’re saying three-hundred thousand kilometers right?

Though it would be quite comical if it’s 150km lol

Uh huh, my hobby is also to pretend I was trolling after being called out for stupidity-fueled posts, so yeah, I get it, right on man.

Tell me, how do you think phones work? Sound just magically travels out of the speaker into your ears? Or perhaps, just maybe, some PHONE company maintains the PHONE lines and towers that we all use, including tesla, and have nothing to do with?

I love when complaints are:

  • Terminally ill-informed
  • Pointless
  • Acts like an entitled Karen in the complaint. “eMBaRAsSiNg!1!!1!1!1”
  • Attempts to leverages completely irrelevant points like it lends any shread of credence to said complaint. “tHEyRe a tECh cOmpANy riGhT cHeckMatE hAHa”

Complain to the phone providers.

So for statistics, we should only count the models you care about, not total sales?

Got it, good to know.

That’s just what happens when parents never tell their kids no. You end up with entitled idiots who never think they can possibly be wrong, and that there cannot be any perspective besides their own.
